So earlier this summer I heard that Josh Groban was coming to town. I didn't think much about it until July when ads starting coming on tv and I got the bug -- I had to get tickets! But the only seats left weren't that great and if I was going to his concert I didn't want to be in the nose-bleed section. So I checked ticket availability on the next 2 or 3 cities on his tour schedule until I got to Vancouver, B.C. and found that there were still good seats available. I researched hotels, calculated driving time, found a seating map of the arena, explored scenarios for my mom to come watch the boys and presented it all to Scott -- this is what I want for my birthday. It didn't take too much coaxing and we were on the ticketmaster website making the purchase! I was ecstatic! We drove 5 hours up to Vancouver, B.C. on the day of the concert. Upon arriving in the city we went to Granville Island -- it's basically a bunch of shops, a food market, artists galleries and a cool view of the harbor. Then we checked into our hotel which was just 1 1/2 blocks from the concert arena. We had an awesome corner room with two entire walls of floor to ceiling windows. We got dressed up, found a great place for dinner and walked over to the concert. What an amazing performance! I just love his voice. Scott enjoyed it quite a bit as well (when we got home he got a copy of my CD to listen to during his drive to work). I listen to his CD everyday and (I know this sounds silly) but I get chills when the opening song from his concert comes on -- it brings back all those memories of excitement and anticipation. The next day we walked up and down Robson Street in Vancouver (lots of stores for shopping). There we spotted this Elvis Orca -- a perfect photo op. Then we casually drove back home, stopping at outlets to do some shopping. It was an overall fabulous trip! |
