back to our house

the front yard
We re-landscaped the front yard this spring.  While I was away at my parent's house with the boys for a week in April, Scott was hard at work putting in this cobblestone path.  (It was a surprise).  We had previously put in a path behind the gate on the left that winds down our sideyard and I had been wishng for a while to continue it around to the front.
I planted some Provence lavender, euonymus (I need to check the spelling on that one), and some alyssum right in front.  Over in the left hand corner is a lilac tree (which I'm praying will survive in our clay soil) and beneath that is blue star creeper which is already starting to spread about (I'm hoping it will soften that corner).
Last is a photo of the identical pots I have sitting on either side of the garage.  I found the iron trellis at Pier 1 and planted some glacier ivy at the base.  There is some alyssum in the pots, but it seems to have lost its flowers.
