snack thief
For the longest time I have been unable to keep Conner out of the cupboards and stop him from stealing snacks!  The prime time for him to strike is during Payton's afternoon nap.  Conner is supposed to have "quiet time" -- he sits on the couch with his pillow and blanket and watches a movie.  And I take some quiet time of my own in my room.  But eventually he gets up and with the stealth of a ninja climbs up onto the counter, opens the cupboard, grabs whatever snack or treat he can find and tip toes back to the couch!  He is soooo good at this -- I probably only hear him about half of the time.  And this is a daily battle that we go through.  So finally I got a lock for the snack cupboard.  And I thought that our little thief would have to quit his act . . . . but I was wrong.

After a couple days I found him pouring croutons into a bowl -- that's about all there was to choose from in the other cupboards.

On this particular day in May I went outside with Payton for a little while to pull some weeds.  When I came back inside, Conner was sitting with at the table munching on a hamburger bun -- and there was a bottle of sprinkles sitting right there with him.  You can see in the picture below what he had created for himself.  I thought it was just way too funny so I had to pull out my camera and take some pictures.

I guess we all learned how resourceful a little 3-year old boy can be when an obstacle is put between him and his snacks!
