| We love our backyard. It suits all of our needs -- lots of open grass for Scott, flower beds for Shannon, and a swingset for Conner & Payton. We really like that there aren't any neighbors behind us -- it gives us more privacy and a great open view. our plants: trees on the left: Autumn Blaze Maple, Japanese Maple trees on the right: European Birch (behind the swingset) shrub border includes: Emerald Gaiety, Peony, Spring Glory Forsythia, Echinacea "Ruby Star" by the birdbath: Phlox and Dwarf Nikko Deutzia (June 5, 2003) We just finished planting some more flowers in the flower bed, ripping out the sod from under the swingset and covering that area & the flower bed with bark. It was a big 2-week project -- Scott worked very hard. We are very happy with the results -- it makes it look very polished. The last thing we want to do is put in some kind of edging around the perimeter of the flower bed & swingset area. |
