Philosophy of Teaching
Learning is my goal as a professional educator.  Practicing my philosophy of teaching is a constant learning process.  I am committed to applying effective methods of teaching for students who are at different developmental stages, have different learning styles, and come from diverse backgrounds; reflect on practice, and act on feedback; and be able to integrate technology into instruction effectively.  As professional educator of English language and literature, I am virtuous while enriching growth by administering my knowledge of English language and literature.

Classroom management is the first step in the educating process.  I will create an atmosphere of routines and procedures to provide the proper learning environment.  A well maintained classroom where I manage the development of knowledge.  Knowing my students, remaining consistent, always prepared and organized and positive expectations are essential to learning and classroom management.  I will learn who is in my classroom through interest, personal and skill inventory forms.  With these methods, I can motivate my students using all available technology and resources.

Literature has the power to transform minds, promote knowledge and understanding; and the potential to meet human, cognitive and affective needs.  I feel novel chunking, guided reading lesson and leveled study guides are useful tools in the English content area.  Creating many modes of authentic assessment to compliment formal assessment makes a class fun and conducive for learners.

Education is child and adolescent occupation.  Every student should be responsible for their own action preparing them for their work environment.  Student will be given and receive respect to everyone as expected in the workplace.  Students are rewarded on their abilities to produce using high order thinking skills.  Knowledge will be the income of student occupation; the wealthiest student will be the one who has gained the most knowledge and will be able to apply it to their lives.  It is the educators job to develop growth, understanding and the learning capacity while remaining amendable, critically examining their student progress.
