'Act Three'
Part I
High Roller Departure :
The Aftermath
The scene opens to the backstage reaction after Mayhem, where the High Rollers have just announced their departure from TNT Wrestling. Numerous wrestlers are both pleased and sad that two big names have left the company. Cole Matthews however, is on hand to interview the man who Vetalo just beat to 'retain' his TNT World Heavyweight title. The crowd's standing ovation as Mills comes through the curtain as he took Jimmy through hell and back, just like he promised.
However, he fell short of his goal after being weakened by a move HE performed as he superplexed the World champion through the table. But the impact destroyed him enough for Vetalo to get the cover and retain his belt, only for both of the High Rollers to then attack Nicky in the ring. The monitor can see referee's and security guards checking on Nicky, who was knocked loopy when he got nailed with a Thunder Kick.
He is seen pushing them away and standing on his own two feet, with a standing ovation from the crowd. Suddenly, Mills comes through the curtain drenched in sweat but still reeling from the Thunder Kick as he almost falls over onto a table, and manages to keep his balance.. He is seething with anger when Matthews approaches him with the camera and microphone. His eyes are full of rage and his body movement is swift and sudden, as if waiting for the High Rollers to attack him.
Cole Matthews: Nicky Mills! My god, what a match! But how are you feeling knowing that both Rollin Thunder and Jimmy Vetalo have left TNT Wrestling.
'The Outlaw' has not been paying attention until now, but then his head turns straight towards Matthews with a look of confusion and turns to face the interviewer.
Nicky Mills: What did you say?
Well...they left the company. They announced it after they Thunder-kicked you.
Mills stops and then a flashback comes moments before the assault of Thunder wearing a 'UWA' logo tee shirt. Nicky then realizes something and begins laughing and cheering. Matthews is shocked and goes to say something to him, but thinks better of it. The other wrestlers are now watching Mills who takes a deep breath and smiles.
Forget them. This is what we've been waiting for since they showed up and took control of this company. They did everything to keep their precious titles and now everyone wised up to their bullshit.
'The Outlaw' turns to the other wrestlers, who are now looking at him with a look of shock. Mills notices this and seems perplexed as to why people are not happy.
What the hell is the matter with you people?! Celebrate! The reign of non talented terror has ended! Ugh, forget you guys. I'm going back to the hotel.
Walking away from Matthews and the group of wrestlers, the scene fades to black, but the camera turns to Cole Matthews, who has a few tears running down his cheek from his eyes and turns his face away to prevent being seen.
A Business Client?
Opening back at the hotel only a day after the events of Mayhem where we last saw Mills and his business partner 'Smith', know revealed as thought to be deceased character Travis Williams, the camera is looking where Nicky is tending to his ribs with an ice bag clutched to them and lying on the double bed, his hand holding a remote control and switching constantly through the channels. The room is quite trashed with beer cans and empty food packets. The television is blaring the events of Mayhem and the end of the main event match. Mills then almost snaps and throws the remote at the screen, almost cracking the screen.
Williams however, remains motionless and watches his boss hold his ribs in pain and then attempt to stand up. Suddenly, he throws the bag of ice down and turns to his partner.
Travis... I was so close. Damnit! What the fuck happened? I did the most stupid thing ever. I turned the match into a Hardcore match. I'm a technical wrestler, not a hardcore bitch.
Travis shakes his head and watches Mills take a drink of water before burying his head in his hands.
Fuck! I cant fucking believe it! I lose to a guy who didn't do any training whatsoever. He beat me and vacated the belt and then I get Thunder kicked to the outside. Those two little snake bastards! Maybe I don't deserve to be here. Now they're gone and nothing can be done about it.
The gigantic seven foot being suddenly then walks to Mills and smacks him across the face with a right hand. Nicky stumbles back and looks at his partner with a look of shock and anger, but remains motionless. Williams then speaks up after listening for so long to his boss.
Travis Williams: What the HELL is the matter with you?! This pussy bullshit your feeding me! You worked your ass off and Vetalo was like a wounded animal. He's not better because he's a fucking sell-out and a pussy, and always will be. But now all I'm hearing from you is something I never thought I would, and that's you doubting yourself. NEVER, and I mean ever, doubt yourself. I don't want to hear it.
What?
Rollin and Jimmy are gone. There's nothing you can do about it. But this is absolutely brilliant for you. A loss means nothing. A win means nothing. It's what you do and how you do it. A man who took out two Mafia families and is the boss of a drugs business should NOT be whining about two little ants who will never be Jonny Fly. Period.
Mills realizes Travis is right and begins laughing in disbelief at his own behaviour just a few moments ago. He taps his partner on the shoulder before sitting on the double bed and taking a deep breath to calm himself down.
Your right. Those two morons have finally left and everything is dandy again.
And now you have everything at your disposal now. Nothing can get in your way. But just make sure you don't try any Hardcore. Your not the same person as you were when you first fought the Disciples, so it's something that is a no no. Wrestling is your very game and all you need to do is outwrestle that person.
Yeah, your right. Have you seen Jeremy since he confronted us, by the way?
No, and to be honest, I don't give a damn. He's not himself. That shit he's doing now is disgusting. Me and Christian didn't train him to act like a satanic idiot and he's lucky I didn't do more for hurting my sister when he made his little 'return' to TNT. Man, I could have destroyed him there and there.
Wising up would be a good start for him. He's gone from a weed smoking fun loving guy to a complete and utter loony.
Well, he didn't get that from me, I can tell you that.
That's why you should talk to him. You know, make him see sense. He was so obsessed with...
Nicky stops his sentence and realizes not to say anything else. Travis looks at him and wonders what he was about to say, but knows not to take it any further.
Oh, I've got something for you. A little assignment to carry out.
Drugs?
Yeah. I've got a client just a few blocks from here but he's a whacko. He could shoot me there and then and to be honest, I don't fancy getting in another shootout.
'Baron' is in New York, by the way. He told me just before I came to see you.
I know. I sent him there to negotiate with the other families.
What for? They're running away from you because of both the Lunacchio's and the Golatti's being dead. So what's there to negotiate?
Travis, I now deal in all of the states. I've taken Las Vegas but I sent him to do something for me.
Wait a second...isn't...he...in New York? You know...
Yes. That's why I sent him down there to find him as well and to bring him here. I don't want to forget a man who helped me avenge my brother. He's in trouble, and maybe somehow, I can help him. But I want to try build something up with them. They're still pissed off about Colitri.
Fuck them. We never needed them. So what makes you think that now, we do?
Travis, if we do something they don't like, the Golatti stuff will be nothing compared to what would happen next. They'd declare war against us, have us all whacked. And no offence, I don't need any of that right now. I need to concentrate on MY business and MY career, not anybody else's. The client's name is Rodrigo Sanchez, by the way.
He sounds like a low time pusher.
You would think. No, he's quite talented. Tied in with a Mexican gang which are known as 'The Bandits'. His dealer is dead from some crazy gang war so he's asking for another one. So I need you to make this delivery instead.
Why are you supplying him?
He's one of them rich flamboyant types so he's easy to manipulate. He'll pay us and we can help him with his troubles. Send over a couple of our crew over to send them a message. 'The Bandits' will be our new little crew to juggle around.
Travis can't believe what he is hearing and shows his disagreement. Mills knows this and begins to try and reason with him.
Look, Rodrigo Sanchez is a little bitch. So we'll supply him, and get him to pay us. Do you know how much he's paying for one briefcase of heroin?
How much?
'The Outlaw' walks over to Williams and whispers something that cannot be picked up. The giant man begins smiling but his eyes show amazement.
Man, tell me your joking.
The guy is a money hog. So you see, we get that everytime we deal with that guy.
I'll be looking forward to that.
You see, it aint so bad. See, this wrestling gig I have is good and all, but this is big. A multi million dollar drugs business with two of the finest minds with me.
A fine mind? Me? Ha, you must be joking. I'm the brawn. I kick ass and ask questions later. Hey, what about the stock of TNT Wrestling? Aren't you going to take that stock?
I took care of all of that.
So your the boss of the company?
Nah. I already have the money. Money doesn't matter to me anymore. But I made sure this person bought the stock so that he or she will be able to own the company. I still share the profits though, give a helping hand now and then. But I've hired a board of directors there to make sure to handle the organization. Salaries, stuff like that, you know. All I want to do is wrestle, and it's something I want to do until the day I die. But this drugs business is just so satisfying.
Yeah, I know. Okay, with this Sanchez guy, what do I do?
I'm sending a few of my guys with you, so as not to jump you. Meanwhile, I've got to find out what my match is this week. Rian is still the acting commissioner. Whatever it is, it's going to be my dying wish to win it. Hang on, let me check what it is.
Mills switches the television on and switches to the TNT Wrestling channel, which is currently advertised Mayhem. Travis' eyes divert in the same direction while Cole Matthews is talking about the guaranteed spectacle, and the crowning of a new World champion. The two combatants are then mentioned, and when the name of 'Nicky Mills' is then uttered with 'Nic Totopoulous', Nicky literally stares on in amazement. He is shocked as the commercial plays of whether the champion will be Mills, or Totopoulous. Travis turns to Nicky and notices what's happening.
Mills?
Nicky buries his face in his hands and then looks up at the screen.
Shit.
Travis and Mills continue to watch the television as the scene slowly fades to darkness.
Addressing The Nation
Opening after a TNT Wrestling commercial, the scene goes straight to a TNT House Show in the same arena where Mayhem was held, which was the Mountaineer Field in Morgandown, West Virginia. The camera goes to the ring where two men are wrestling in the ring and are nailing each other with lefts and rights. Both men are virtually unknowns and are trying to impress the commisioner, Rian Callaway, to give them jobs in the company. The announcers are also announcing this match.
TD: Both men showing that they want jobs.
KK: Meh, it's just two clowns. Boring!
One of the men, a short long blonde haired man currently has the advantage against his opponent, a tall bald headed man. The long blonde haired wrestler reverses a right hand and hits him with the stunner, and pins him for the cover. The match is over and fans seem pleased with the match. Both men leave the ring and fans begin to murmer between themselves when 'Mosh' by Eminem shakes the sound speakers and the crowd goes absolutely nuts for the new hero, 'The Outlaw' Nicky Mills, who makes his way from the back with his trademark pink sunglasses and a white tee shirt and a pair of jeans. Slapping hands on the way to the ring, he slides into it and the ring announcer hands him the microphone.
TD: It's Nicky Mills! He will be fighting Nic Totopoulous for the vacant TNT Wrestling Heavyweight Championship.
KK: But Vetalo took that damn belt with him.
TD: Ah, who cares? We'll just get new belts. But this match is so anticipated. Both men have one win over each other, and this match will be the decider. Who is the better man and who deserves to be champion?
The audience are heavily chanting 'OUTLAW!' at the superstar who fought Vetalo at Mayhem and lost, but not without a heavy fight. Nicky holds the microphone to his lips and begins to speak to the audiance.
Nobody's heard or seen of me since Mayhem, and many people are asking questions, especially my opponent, Nic Totopoulous.
Booing loudly, the crowd show their disapproval at the religious cult wrestler while Nicky looks around and waits for them to stop before continuing.
Can Nicky Mills win knowing that he lost to Jimmy Vetalo just last Sunday night? Can he finally get enough to win the championship from a man he respects? No, the real question is, will 'The Outlaw' even make it to Mayhem? Is he too dishearted from his loss to face Nic?
KK: Huh?
TD: Does he have a change of heart? He shouldn't be ashamed for losing. He still nearly beat Jimmy within an inch of his life.
A large grin appears on the face of the former Heavyweight champion and he speaks again into the microphone.
Not a chance.
The crowd scream loudly and chant Mills' name while Nicky walks around the ring looking at the audience and giving a thumbs up as he continues.
Jimmy Vetalo and Rollin Thunder, you two are so pathetic it's disheartening. I mean, watching your 'debut' at the UWA almost made me burst a gut in laughing. Showing up with belts that dont mean anything and have no meaning anymore. So you ran away because you couldn't handle the truth? Yeah, that's why you ran off. Because we were about to crush your entire game plan and run you out of the company. And to make it even cheaper, I got Thunder kicked and double teamed by the two of you. Doing everything 'together' because without the other, you mean nothing to anyone. Go and ruin the UWA and then try and come crawling back. But you wont get another chance. Nah, we're all sick of you anyway.
But Jimmy, I almost had some respect for you. ALMOST. I beat you within an inch of your life and you still beat me. That's absolutely remarkable. But then Thunder came out in that tee shirt, and I thought you had seen the light when you opposed him. Could your small brain actually comprehend respect and honour to TNT? I guess not, because when the greatest beating in wrestling was occurring with me destroying that punk Thunder, you just had to jump in and beat me down. Oh, don't worry, you got your free shot. But always remember, I will always be better than the High Rollers. Go and play your politics in UWA, and see how fast you get kicked out. Heh, I can't wait to see you both come crawling back on your hands and knees begging for forgiveness.
A loud chant of 'Statistics Rollers!' begins to rise from the crowd and Nicky smiles before speaking.
Yeah, I was about to say the same thing.
The crowd cheer and Nicky takes a bottle of water from the ring announcer while the announcer comment.
TD: I never did like the High Rollers.
KK: They sucked, but you suck worse.
Mills paces around the ring and holds the microphone to his lips.
So now the World title is vacant, and the commissioner knows exactly what the audience want, what YOU people want. So this Sunday Mayhem, it will be the greatest rematch in the history of TNT Wrestling. One win against each other and this match will be the final conclusion to a feud that needs to be settled. While we settled everything in the Iron Man, we still have to find out who is truly the better man. Nicky Mills or Nic Totopoulous.
Nic, I have a tremendous amount of respect for you. Growing up, your were the man. I watched it when you beat Freedom Morelez for the belt only for Cosmos to interfere and cost you the match. I watched when you won the TNT title for the very first time in a four way ladder match and it was me watching when you later beat Michael Edwards for the belt only two years ago. You were the man and you helped UWA and TNT get to the very top. Your also one of the best wrestlers I've ever had the pleasure of facing and we gave these fans one of the greatest matches ever in the Ironman.
Nicky then comes to a stop and takes another sip of water before speaking.
But almost none of that will matter at Mayhem. I may have respect for you, but what it comes down to is years of pain, of sadness, of heartbroken, of sorrow, that I will finally avenge. Hollywood has taught me something. The first and second part isn't what's important, it's the finale. The third. The sequel to end all sequels. And as far as I am concerned Nic, your in the way of my goal, which is the TNT Heavyweight championship. The belt which I failed to take, but that won't matter when I finally win it without any help, but with myself and my skills. And after that, it'll either be Macintosh Rogers or Eric Baxter. And once I defend it, that will be the final test. Retaining and defending. But first, I have to take the belt.
Yes, our Iron man was for the Eurasian championship, but this time, it's for the big daddy, the greatest thing that any wrestler can have. World gold. That means you are THE very best, but again, Vetalo was not that whatsoever. But now this, my friends, is it. I can offer no guarantees or trashtalk, but I can only offer you my respect. We will give people the best match ever. It will go down in the history books as the most thrilling match ever seen on Mayhem.
But I'm going in there with everything I have. Everything that I've ever been through in my life. The death of my mother, my brother's murders, the burden of killing my oldest brother to save my life, it will all come to a conclusion. Totopoulous, you already believe you have the match won. That's a big mistake. The first rule of being a wrestler is to never guarantee anything. And you've broken that very rule with your clouded ego. This religious stuff has gotten to your head, so it must be me to drill it into your skull. I'm not Eric Baxter. I'm Nicky Mills, the man who has beaten you already just nearly two weeks ago and your win against me was only because the referee didn't see my foot on the ropes. Regardless, a win is a win. But this Sunday, we will truly find out who the greater wrestler is. Who the champion will be.
Nic, good luck. But I have plans to walk out of there the World champion.
Mills drops the microphone and begins to walk to the back as 'Mosh' by Eminem plays over the sound system. Only the announcing of the commentators is heard.
TD: You heard it straight from the horses mouth, Kraig! THIS will be the greatest match in TNT history!
KK: Hey, is it me, or is Mills a good guy?
TD: Did you find that out just now?
KK: Um, well yeah, I guess.
The scene slowly fades to black with the two commentors still arguing with each other.
