The Assassin
Part I
Opening at the downtown New York police station, we are watching the daily goings and outgoings in the station. Officers being called to situations, angry detectives trying to solve murders, all sorts of things are occurring in this very building. However, we are looking at an interview room which contains a man who has been the feature of the media recently, as his brother's body was finally found, and the police may have put two and two together and realised that indeed this man is connected with the Lunacchio Family murders.
Nicky Mills, wearing normal street clothes, is looking rather angry and annoyed, and looks as if he is about to explode. Two officers are in the room with Mills, who is known to the police and has been in this same situation many times. One of the officers is reading a file of Nicky Mills, as we can tell as the front cover of the file is made clear to the camera, which reveals his real name. The other officer is standing against the wall looking at Nicky, who finally loses his cool and pushes himself away at the table, as the officer reading the file looks up at the wrestler with a cool and calm expression.
Nicky Mills: This is fucking bullshit! My brother is dead, you bastards, and you want to question me? I keep telling you over and over again, but you dumb bastards don't seem to understand. I don't know what my brother was into, and he's dead. I want to bury him without THIS! And if your going to continue to do this, I want my damn attorney right now!
The officer laughs when he hears this and standing up to meet Mills' glare, slowly speaks.
Officer #1: Look, we aren't keeping you here as a suspect. Should we?
Fuck you. You know what my answer is to that.
Good. Now we have twenty six people dead. All of the people eating in the Bamboo House are dead. No witnesses, nothing. We had two people in critical condition and they are now dead. So your brothers body appears in front of the House with a note attached saying 'Revenge', and you wonder why we are questioning you?
That's right, bitch. So go ahead and lay it on the line.
The other officer, who has remained silent until now, then moves himself away from the wall and lighing a ciggerette, addresses Mills.
Officer #2: We believe that you are somehow, connected to all of this. Here's what we have. Almost a week ago, the entire Mafia family known as the 'Lunacchios' were killed in a New York war. Witnesses have made statements suggesting it was a planned assault, and that the two key figures of the family, Thomas Vance and Paulie Lino, were murdered on the street as they attempted to enter a limousine in front of them near a road block. The man in the limousine then opened fire along with a gang of men who were waiting in a nearby alleyway, and then the Family vehicle attempted to speed away. Then a black Jaguar car followed them and began opening fire on the limousine which span out of control. Then, the two CIA officers and 'Don' Vincent Lunacchio were murdered in the woods. All of the bodies were taken and dumped in the woods, then set on fire.
So then the son of Vincent Lunacchio, Santino Lunacchio, decides to take revenge. And he launches an attack on the Bamboo House, and we believe that the person that killed his father was eating there. Days later, we find him hanging in an abandoned warehouse.
What a beautiful story. Too bad I dont give a fuck.
Well, you should. We have somebody who can tell us that your brother was involved with the Family. That the two CIA officers linked with the Family were owed money by your brother.
What?
This is all new to you?
Of coarse it is! My brother is dead! And you have me here! Why cant you let me bury my other brother, now that I have my entire family dead?
Your parents are still alive, are they not?
I disowned them. And I don't wish to discuss that, if you don't mind.
Look, we know you are connected to this entire affair. If you ask me, it was you that killed the Lunacchio Family because they murdered your brother. A plus was also realizing that the CIA officer you also killed was the head of the investigation surrounding allegations you were involved in a number of terrorist attacks. That case fell through, and the Central Intelligence Agency lost their case. But I'm smart. You also killed Santinio Lunacchio and hanged him to make it look as if he committed suicide. Now someone is out to kill you as revenge.
Nicky stares at both of the officers and begin laughing. Mills then shakes his head, and begins to respond.
First of all, I dont know what the hell your talking about, and you might want to be careful of your allegations. Since this is off the record, I know nothing. If my brother was in any danger, I would have known. Now you listen to me. My entire family are dead. I had to kill my own brother to stop him killing me. I want to bury my brother and to move on to concentrate on my wrestling career. The more you drag my name through the mud, the more annoyed I get and the more money I'll get in a lawsuit against you dumb assholes for even attempting to suggest I am capable of murder.
Which you are. You were convicted for seven years for murder of your youngest brothers killer.
Indeed, and I am glad you bring that up. I have undergone a change, officers, and ever since I have become one of the most popular faces in America, it has changed me. But then the CIA went and blemished my name. Once they cleared me, my brother is found dead outside this 'Bamboo House' and you immediately suggest I have something to do with it. If someone is after me, I will know, and I will immediately call upon the authorities to do their jobs and 'protect and serve'. But I know that whatever you speak of is plain and utter bullshit. You speak off the record, and I'll speak on the record. If you have nothing more to say, I want to leave. And if you keep me here any longer, you will hear from my attorney. Understood?
Hey relax, Nicholas. We only wanted to ask you a few questions.
So can I leave now?
Yes. Have a nice day, Mr Mills. And I'm sorry about your brother.
Whatever.
Nicky stands up and glaring at both officers, proceeds to leave the interview room. The two officers are seen looking at each other and then one of them sighs loudly and begins to speak to the other.
I'll make sure someone is watching him. If I know this guy, he has something big planned.
The other officer nods his head in acknowledgement and the scene then slowly fades to black.
Opening in a darkened location, where the dim light can only reveal a man loading a large gun, possibly a rifle and a man who's identity is not revealed to us and stays in the darkness so that even the man loading the gun cannot see his face or know the person. The man hiding in the shadows begins to speak darkly and carefully, so that the man loading the rifle can understand him.
Unknown Man: Now, this is very simple. Listen well, and you will get your money. Nicky Mills is a threat to myself, and I want him eliminated. He is getting closer to everything he should not know. If he ever found out the truth about not only himself but about his current situation, he will come looking for revenge. I cannot have that. It would be a threat to my entire existence and to what I have planned for him. Remember, it must be a clean hit.
The man holding the rifle and examining it carefully nods his head, as the unknown man in the shadows continues to speak.
I am serious. If he survives, or even escapes the assassination attempt, it will not be long before you yourself will be killed. This man also has an ally known as Jonny Fly, a known man to the world along with Nicky Mills. Kill him if he intercepts you or knows your identity or the links. Now get it done.
As the man in the shadows lets out a grin which can be made out, the man holding the rifle begins to exit the room, and we fade out.
