Fighting The Major
Part II
Things have just escalated for the worse.
Nicky Mills has now two nagging problems which are inscribed into his mind, a constant reminder of the situation.
A man named Billy Dee and his cult beat down Nicky Mills and put him in a life threatening coma thanks to a devastating chair shot. Ever since, Mills has swore revenge against these men and promises to bring them to justice.
But now Nicky has received some sort of note, threatening to tell the authorities about the Toronto Skydome Bombing, which Nicky is now known to be responsible for, despite the authorities thinking he was innocent. This person is claiming to be Nicky's father, and if indeed this is true, this could tear apart the family once and for all. Two of his brothers are dead at his hands, and his other brothers death is being blamed on himself by his parents. His mother is claimed 'to be dying' and his father is now swearing revenge against his now only son.
He seems to know everything. The Lunacchio Killings, The Skydome Bombing, The KFC Massacre, which saw a police officer investigating Jonny Fly killed along with his partner. All of this is at the direct hands of Nicky Mills, all orchestrated by this one man. And now a man claiming to be his father has revealed everything. That he was the Voice telling Mills to commit these crimes, manipulate his thinking and make him believe he wasn't responsible. It was all this mans doing. And now he is swearing his revenge against Nicky.
Could this be only the beginning for the final downfall of Nicky Mills? Or is this where Mills finally lays his past to rest forever?
Nicky has finally decided to go see someone he promised never to see again in his lifetime. And that is his mother. He flew down directly to Cardiff, the capital of Wales, and then travelled down by a rented car to the small town. Only one question stands out:
What happens next?
Opening in the small town of Swansea, which is located in the country known as Wales, Nicky Mills' birthplace and where he spend most of his life before going to America. Nicky has arrived at Morriston Hospital, which is where his mother is rumoured to be held, and walks up to the main desk as people are seen all around. The receptionist is a medium heighted woman in her late twenties, her long blonde hair coming right down to her shoulders. She looks up to see Mills waiting at the desk, and she stares in amazement.
Nicky Mills: Yeah listen. I need to know where Valerie Mills is. I believe she's in this hospital.
The woman gives him an icy glare before responding.
Receptionist: I know you. Your that wrestling boy from here.
I'm here to see my mother.
Well, she doesn't exactly want to see you right now. She hasn't wanted to see you since you...
She's dying. Okay? Don't give me this shit now.
I'm going to have to ask you to leave right now, sir...
She goes to use the phone before Mills grabs the phone and makes sure she doesn't use it. The woman's eyes are glazed over with fear as she begins to shake, and Nicky's voice becomes one of seriousness. People begin to stare at what is happaning.
Listen to me, you fucking bitch! I don't need this. I don't want this. I'm here to see my mother, and not even YOU will stop me from going inside. If you try to have me leave, I'll make sure you get a room booked for yourself. This is a woman that took care of me, and even though we haven't spoken in a long time, she isn't going to live. Right now, your going to tell me where she is, right?
Nicky holds on before letting go and the woman almost falls back in fear. She then gives him an instant answer.
Room 219. Second floor. Elderly Ward.
That wasn't so hard, was it?
Mills walks away towards the staircase as people tend to her, and the scene fades out.
Fading back into the hospital, Nicky is outside the Room 219 and speaking to a nurse on the patients condition. We don't hear this, but from what we can tell by Mills' face, which is almost emotionless, it's serious. Nicky then thanks the nurse and enters the room, and for the first time in nearly seven years, he finally reunites with her mother.
She is lying on the bed, and is still conscious, her eyes widened in shock, and her skin and face show weakness and withering. However, she realizes who is standing before her. Nicky is the first to speak up.
Mum? It's me.
The woman surprisingly almost leaps out of bed and even though she looks as if death is staring at her, she manages to give her son a hug, as the height difference is actually comical, as she seems to have stopped growing a long time ago. Nicky looks horrified by this show of emotion. Didn't this woman hate him? Wasn't this the mother who refused to speak to him? The mother of Nicky Mills looks up into her son, and begins to speak, her voice quiet but enough for Nicky to hear.
Mother: Nicholas...why has it been so long? Why haven't you come to see me?? Why did you abandon me?? I wanted to help you! And you turned your back on me! Your own mother!
Mills doesn't understand, and his face shows this obviously.
What are you talking about? You hated me.
His mother looks up, and tears begin to form in her eyes. She holds onto her only living son and begins sobbing uncontrollably.
Mum, what's going on? This isn't supposed to happen. When I was in prison, I couldn't talk to you. You hung up on me. Why? What is all of this suddenly? Forgiveness?
The withered woman lets go and looks up at her son, her eyes still stained with tears but her voice resumed to normal.
Because your father told me you wouldn't speak to me anymore. That you refused to talk about me and said I was dead, according to you. He constantly said you would never come back. Has your father lied to me all these years?
And finally, Nicky learns everything in a heartbeat. His father was the reason why he has been separated from his mother. He lied to Nicky to make him feel worse, and that his mother was never angry with him. He controlled her and manipulated her so that she would be wrapped around his finger. Was all of this because of his father's anger for Nicky? That because of his act of revenge, he made his own mother believe he hated her?
Listen to me. This is Dad. All of it. Mum, why didn't you realize I wouldn't abandon you? I believed you hated me, and I gave up all hope. He's lied to us both, and he's used you to get to me. Our whole family is dead. Thomas is dead, Mark is dead. Please, if you know where he is, tell me. I have to talk to him.
Her mother then lies back into her bed, and Nicky shows signs of confusion.
Mum?
I'm...so...sorry...Nicholas...Please...forgive...me...
And then, something happens. Her entire body stops, her face and eyes are completely still. The heart monitor stops, and the constant ringing of the sign that there is no heart pulse. Mills backs away and stares at the stillness of his mother, as nurses and doctors rush into the room and try to revive her. But then after a few minutes, the ringing of the monitor is still heard, and Nicky realizes the worst has happened.
His mother is dead.
Tears fall down his cheeks as his mother lies in the bed, and the doctors look up at her only living son, who collapses to the floor in a heap of shock. The nurses and the doctors pull the sheet over her body as Mills has his face buried in his hands, his cries echoing in the room. We fade out with the nurses and doctors leaving the room. Nicky's right hand is clenched in a ball, otherwise a fist, a sign of anger.
This was your fault...you cold hearted bastard.
Dad was responsible for everything...my pain and my torture.
But I promise you, you will live to regret what you did to mum...
You will join Hell because I will make you burn in Hell.
Because my revenge, will finally be complete.
Nicky is sitting next to the hospital bed where his now deceased mother is lying, and he seems to have calmed down. But a figure walks into the room, and his footsteps are not heard as he walks up to Nicky, and grins.
Hello, son.
Mills looks and see's his father, and makes an attempt to lunge at him but an object is pointed at his chest, and his father grins.
Make this easy, son, so your death can be more pleasurable.
Is that a gun, old man?
What do you think?
As soon as you let go, I'm going to pound the shit into you, you fuck.
I dont think so. Now let's go...come on!
Nicky's father forces Mills to stand up and sticks the gun in his back, a sign for him to start moving, and the scene slowly fades to black as both men head out of the room.
