With this title for
the examination of step two, I have to wonder how many viewers skipped
one and went to two. However tantalizing the heading, the idea of this
step was simply to explore how graphics either invite or distract the viewer
in delving into the site's contents. This section also mentions the idea
of originality in the use of the images. I have not found another site
about Blake's poetry that makes use of his images in such a clever way.
And it would be fair to say that William Blake's paintings have not been
"smeared" all over the web so the graphics here are fresh and meaningful.
Selecting Blake's "Queen
Katherine's Dream" to introduce the idea of inviting a browser to find
out what sex without bodies could possible refer to is much the same way
Blake used his illustrations to draw the read of his verse into an understanding
of his themes. This web site pairs graphics and text extremely well while
providing lots of eye candy along the way. Aren't you ashamed for what you were thinking you would find here? Go take a shower and continue browsing.
