Bath Day is very necessary with a bird. His feathers depend on the moisture to keep bright and healthy. In the wild, they are exposed to moisture on a daily basis. Here is Colorado, it is very dry, so he depends upon me to spray him down with a water bottle.
This is a pose he uses when he is trying to catch all of the drops and to cool off. This is also just before he plunges himself off the edge and hang upside down. To view other poses, check out his album.
This photo was taken with my phone camera and I am spraying him at the same time. So, the photo is a little blurry.
After the bath, he will dry his feathers and then groom (preen) himself to make those feathers look really soft and fluffy.
