Stream of Eighteen

Janice
and her sister fuzz
known as Caroline
by her never there mother
anything for love, motorbikes and cash
I never heard their voices again
after that spell hooked
and I iced the earth
with my spit
and tore the seams
of the suffragette ring
singing angel ballads of rubies and wine
and internal bleeding
behind a secret wheel
as my addiction drove me home
and crimson and clover grew
over a hold-me dashboard
Joan Jett, jet black leather
and massive attacks
we hated everyone, but I
heaven seeker, held on to Jesus tight
kissing my puberty, embracing my lust
as he suckled my lonely breast
I found his spirit in my bedside radio
after I kicked that homo out of my bed
running from dreams that kicked in my head
as they sang covenants to lure, leaving scripts of rashes
and ashes to pretty my eyes
shame wore a splashed red dress
that kept me turning for years
