Out in the ebony
she cannot dive for long,
lest the darkness swallow her
into the sonic depths.
The shield of life forbids
the calling of her home song.

Serene cove, tis' her breath
doves and peace dwell there.

Travelled waves pool
through eroding arches,
tumbling crystals arrive
into her seclusion,
curls and ribbons
shall become her play.

A harmonic wave laps
at her sandy tail
with an ancient song
of oceanic caress.

Shells and seaweed lace
adorn her rippled court,
Trinkets and coloured stones
request blessing of her sight,
whispering fables of eons.

Here, as the doves circle,
she can rest in abandon.
Here, in the gentle winds,
she can be surely safe.
Here, within solitude of light,
she can reflect and be.

She senses an iris widen
from the spirited heights.
