Butter Moon

She looks bigger on the horizon
still and being, as horses do
when the sun slinks away
the one that chases the moon
coloured bottles have dimmed
captured magic instead of rays
sifting the roads, empty husks
our feet are bound for east
on steady ground, we evolve
carrying close butter-moons
and clinging to her every curve
