Ache

I wandered into your valley, clambered
Up through your mountain, fell
Into your world from majestic heights,
We met often in the pour, bathed
In milk of the night, entranced
In the lotions of our love.

Here I am, floundering in shaded pools
After springs waterfall, but I am here,
Wading through drying shallows,
Watching you, my miss-you heart
In winter's cabin, watching you tumble,
Down and away into the rivers ache.
