Hall Table (no pun intended) by Steven Hall
The legs and rails are ash, frame around table top is oak, and the table top itself is cherry veneer on an MDF substrate.

The only restrictions for the project were that the table have a horizontal surface or no more than four square feet parallel to the surface of the earth and that the joinery include mortise and tenons perpendicular to each other.

I was influenced by the horse-hoof style in classical Chinese furniture. Unfortunately they ended up looking like bell-bottoms.

(Ash, oak, cherry veneer; 38" l x 16" w x 34" h; 2002-04)
