This one is perfect especially since schools starting back and the kids are in sports etc.
A first aid kit whether for home, car, or on Scouting trips is an essential for the safety and well-being of all participants or family members. We used an old red lunch box so it would be easily recognizable.
We hope that this acts as a guide to creating your own First Aid Kit.
This project is rated AVERAGE to do.
What You Need
Red plastic lunch box
Citrus Magic
Metal putty knife or other straight edge
Inkjet full page label (see tips for other suggestions)
Con-Tact paper or self adhesive Laminating Sheets
Scissors
Ruler
Pen (to draw cutting lines on label & Con-Tact paper)
First Aid Supplies for kit (see suggestions below)
How To Make It
Print pattern below for First Aid Sticker: (Print 1 for each side of lunch box) Click here
Tear the label off of the red lunch box.
Spray the remaining label with Citrus Magic.
Use the metal putty knife to scrape off the remaining label.
Wash and dry the lunch box.
Cut the labels to fit the lunch box.
Attach label to front and back of the red lunch box.
Cut Con-Tact paper slightly larger than the sticker.
Apply Con-Tact paper to the labels. Be sure to press firmly around the edges to keep moisture away from the label.
Decide on a place to keep your First Aid kit. Make sure everyone knows where it is kept.
Fill your first aid kit with: (suggested items)
Box of assorted sizes of adhesive bandages
1" bandage
2" bandage
Package of sterile gauze
Sterile non-stick bandages
Ipecac syrup
Anti-biotic Ointment
Ace wrap (elastic bandage)
Small sharp scissors
Tweezers
Adhesive tape
Needles
Matches
Hydrocortisone cream
Benadryl cream or antibiotic ointment
Disposable instant cold pack
Alcohol Swabs
Plastic Gloves
Emergency phone numbers (doctor, hospital, and poison control)
Tips
You can also just use cardstock and draw on your picture and write the words "First Aid". Use double-stick tape to adhere to the lunchbox and cover with Con-Tact paper.
