Materials:
14"tall dried gourd
Abrasive sponge and household cleaner
Fine sand-paper and tack cloth
Chalk
1/8 drill bit
Acrylic paint in following colors: Azure blue, gray, Glazed carrots,
Green Forest, Licorice, Yellow, taffy, tangerine, tapioca
 
Pigment in:
 Burnt Sierra
Burnt Umber
You will need paint brushes, tracing paper,glossy sealer, black wire and craft glue,
Novelty spiders and webs, optional
 
To prepare the gourd: Soak in hot soapy water,scrape it with abrasive cleanser, rinse and dry overnight.
Lightly sand, wipe with tack cloth,
 and divide in half with chalk.
Drill holes on each side for handles.
Paint the gourd:
Paint the bottom half Licorice color for the cauldron,the top half Tapioca color for the ghost.
Paint eyes and mouth as shown, base coat the pumpkin area in Glazed carrots color. Thin Tapioca Acyrlic Paint with water to achieve the transparent arms of the ghost.
 
Paint the features for the jack o lantern and add leaves and shading. Glue the ends of the wire into sides for handles.
When dry, spray with glossy sealer and add webs if desired.
