Course Description

          Environmental  problems and their major cause analysis.  The inter-relationship between

 Environmental Factors and  Human Health Effects.  Air Pollution and control including Indoor

 Air Pollution and Housing Sanitation. Lighting and Ventilation for healthy housing and workplaces.

Human Waste Disposal including Municipal Solid Waste and Hazardous Waste Management.

Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment and Disposal. Public Nuisance control and abatement.

Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management System including Planning and evaluation.   

 

Course Objectives

       Student will be able to

1.             understand the role and scope of Environmental Health in the field of Public Health.

2.             describe causes and contributing factors of environmental problems, including population problem

       and  pollutions.

3.             analyze  causes and effects of environmental health problems, and properly select preventive

strategies

4.             plan to conduct sanitary surveys of household, school, hospital , in accordance with settings

 for health approach.

5.             describe environmental planning for control and prevention of water and air pollution, for

waste management ,insect-vector control ,nuisance abatement and water quality managements.

6.             understand environmental management tools as EMS,ISO 1401 and EIA etc.
