RAMZAN CELEBRATED WITH FERVOUR;

Ramzan was celebrated with fervor, all over Kodagu.

Shafi Muslim brethren celebrated Ramzan yesterday and Hanafi Muslims are celebrating it today at Madikeri. Both the factions celebrated the festival together in many parts.

Peace march was taken out at Madikeri, Somwarpet and Virajpet.

CULTURAL PROGRAMME BEGINS;

The nine day cultural programme has begun at Madikeri, yesterday.

Inaugurating the programme at Cauvery Kalakshetra, Swamy Jagadatmananda said that the festivals should not be celebrated only for fun. The essence of it should be learnt by the people. Like Godess Durga destroyed Demon Mahishasura, we should destroy the ills which exist inside and outside of us.

People should decide to transform self and the society into good on the occasion of the festival, he said. Quoting the historical instances, swamyji said that Truth always triumphs against untruth. Good always wins against bad at the end.

Presiding over the function, DC Niranjan called upon the people to inculcate spiritual values in life to beget peace of mind.
