DC REMOVES ENCROACHMENT OF A HISTORICAL STONE;‘Bheemana Kallu’ or “Bheemana Guhe” is a histrical stone situated between Bhagamandala and Talacauvery. Recently, a private person encroached the stone along with two acres of land. Recently, the Deputy Commissioner along with the revenue officials removed the encroachment and said that the spot would be converted into a tourist spot. The story goes that Pandavas stopped near the spot for lunch during their period and Bheema found a stone in his food. He threw the stone away and it is the same stone which is now considered as holy and a place of interest for the tourists. Breath taking scenery surrounds the stone which is situated at a height and locals had urged the tourism department to convert it into a tourist spot. Since nobody took interest, the stone was encroached. The deputy Commissioner who inspected the stone and a cave within assured that the spot would be converted into a tourist spot. He urged the temple authorities and Gram Panchayath to put up sign boards for the tourists to locate place easily. The path leading to the place from the road was also cleared. The temple authorities state that the place also has spiritual significance and saints who would walk to the Teertodbhava decades ago would stay inside the cave for few days and proceed towards Talacauvery. |
