BIKE THIEVES ARRESTED IN BETTADPURA

Madikeri Nov. 27 Three youths have stolen 14 bikes in Kodagu on different days. All the bikes were sold at Bettadapura near Kushalnagar. The local farmers in Bettadapura could not recognize the fake numbers on number plates. They were unaware of the incident and they accepted the created documents during the purchase of vehicles from this group. Bettadapura police have arrested Jaga and Ganesh of Kushalnagar and another accused of Kudlur village near Kushalnagar is absconding.

The trio has stolen 4 bikes in kushalnagar and other 10 bikes in other places in the district. The bikes include Splendour, Pulser and yamaha.. The group use to pilfer the vehicle during day time only. When the riders park their vehicle for some work and went to some offices or bank, the accused were swiftly moving with the bikes. Within three months of span they stole 14 bikes.

Bettadapura police have seized the vehicles. Meanwhile Sunticoppa police have also arrested Altaf and Suhel of Nanjarayapatna in connection with the bike theft cases. This is a separate group and the police have seized 7 bikes from them.

ACCIDENT CASE TENSION CREATED

Madikeri Nov. 27 The heavily drunken youths driving a Maruthy Zen car hit a Kinetic Honda near Indane gas centre here. When the public questioned them the youths tried to retaliate with harsh words. The gathering beat them and handed over to police. The car driver Sunil of Thalathmane village near here is arrested. Bike rider M.N.Abdul Muthadir (19) s/of a cloth merchant here has been shifted tio Mangalore hospital.The drunken driver even mishandled the vehicle before the accident near LIC office here..Due to alertness of three women who were standing and also an auto timely escaped from the accident.

KODAVA ACADEMY MEMBERS RESIGNED

Madikeri Nov. 27 The corruption charges against the Kodava Academy president dati Poovaiah is now taking a new turn The two academy members have resigned from their poasts.Baddira A Subbaiah and Koopadira Sundari Machaih have sent their resignations to President and secretary of the academy.They mentioned that they are fed up by the allegations against the academy. They opine that the president and secretary keep silence over the issue instead of clarifying the factual thing.againet the continue allegations made by Kodava Thakk Jananga karada okkuta headed by Virajpet thaluk Panchayath member and a journalist Addanda cariappa.

The Academy had planned the world Kodava language conference during next December.All the preparation works are disrupted. now The Okkoota alleges that corruption is visible through unauthorized lottery tickets,advts. Collection for the souvenir without proper accounts. The okkoota opt the conduct of world kodava conference by various kodava samajas instead of the move by academy in this juncture.

Meanwhile the academy president obtained a stay order in Karnataka high court against a police complaint given by Addanda cariappa The complaint was given to seize the lottery tickets printed without permission from the Govt.. Police have registered a case against her and were investigating The Judge H.G.Ramesh accepted the appeal and stayed police investigation proceedings.
