PUDIYOKKADA FAMILY TEAM LIFTS RINK HOCKEY

Pudiyokkada family team lifted the rink hockey cup organized by Devanageri planters club for Kodava families in Kodagu.The event held at Devanageri primary school ground. Pudiyokkada team defeated Machamaada team in the finals. Machaamada team has to be satisfied for runners up.

In the running match both teams scored 6 each. In the tie breaker also both scored 4 each. Then,the suddendeath beneifitted Pudiyokkada team.Somanna of Pudiyokkada team scored 5 goals and Mithun 1 goal;Bopanna of Machamada scored 3, while Vishwas scored 2, and Gokul 1.Inanda Lala was the uumpire.Ichanda Kumar got best goal keeper award, Machaamaaada Bopanna won the best player award.

In the overall series Someyanda family team obtained the award for best performance. Mookonda Varun with total 21 goals achievement received the highest goal scorer award.

During the rink hockey festival some other games were also conducted. In the women’s tug of war event Balamuri friends Kadangas team became winners and Bhagavathi self help group, Devanageri became runners up.

Inaugurating the events, Areyada Pavin, convenor of Bangalore Samanvaya Kodavas hinted to youth not to indulge in gambling or liquor drinking and suggested to involve in public service activities. Nellamakkada Mohan Aiyappa,the Kodagu Hockey Association president hinted the community youth to cultivate politeness along with the sports activities.He regretted about the egoism attitude of coorg players which make them failure in the field. Kodava Hockey Academy founder president Pandanda Kuttappa spoken. Coffee planter Sannuvanda Ganesh Medappa presided.

PRIVATE-KSRTC FIGHT REACH PEAK

Madikeri Nov . 18 The competition and direct fight between Private buses in Kodagu and the KSRTC reach to the peak. Incident of stopping the two KSRTC buses at Gonikoppalhas been reported The staff of private buses blocked the movement of two KSRTC buses. They complain that the two buses ply nearly two hours late ignoring their schedule time. The changed time directly affect the private buses with the same starting time..Already, the private bus owners association has warned the district administration that all the private bus services in Kodagu will be withdrawn from December if the officials does not monitor the issue. The association alleges that being supported by an individual entrepreneur from pollibetta, the KSRTC administration has commenced many number of buses in Kodagu and the timings is just 5 minutes difference from the private buses. The entrepreneur has grudge against the private buses. Although the KSRTC buses also running in loss they continue to keep the prestige. Further, the KSRTC has to ply the buses with a special permission from Kodagu RTO to run in the district limits under non monopoly act. But, they ignore it and broken the law –say the private bus association president Ramesh Joyappa.

The 177 private buses moving in Kodagu may finally decide to stop their services if the loss continues due to KSRTC competition. The bus workers union also protested against the inaction of the concerned officials. However, the deputy commissioner K,R .Niranjan has called a special meeting of both the private bus owners and the KSRTC administrative on 19th (today) where he will hear the grievances. All the concerned officers are attending

CULTIVATE SERVICE MENTALITY:JUSTICE V.JAGANNATHAN

Madikeri Nov.18 Cultivate service mentality. Attend the persons who visit the courts including advocates-this suggestion was given by the High court judge V.Jagannathan, He was addressing the Kodagu district court employees. The association has organized annual conference in Cauvery kalakshethra here today. Jagannathan inaugurated the conference. He is also in charge of Kodagu Judicial administration.

About providing quarters to the judicial staff he told that during a discussion with the deputy commissioner he asked to provide 25% of the constructed quarters for judicial employees. DC has agreed for this-he disclosed. At present about 50 quarters are lying unoccupied due to dilapidated condition of the rooms. These quarters are meant for Govt. employees. Jagannathan told that he will try to get Govt. sanction of Rs. 50 lakh amount for the renovation of the dwelling places. But, the condition is that 25% of the total repaired quarters should be provided to judicial employees only he suggested.

Deputy Commissioner K.R.Niranjan,State judicial employees association president B.S.Prabhakar Prasad, District Govt. employees association per president Mary Magdaleen,District Judge R.Venkatesh, Madikeri Bar association president C.M.Medappa, Court employees association district president N.M.Anand and others were present

Earlier the court employees today have donated their blood in district hospital for the benefit of admitted patients in the hospital and other operation cases. After, the function Judge Jagannnathan visited Ponnampet to observe the progress of work for the establishment of a new court there.
