MAHIMA MOOTS ‘SUVARNA YUGA’Madikeri November 14, 2007 Mahima patel, son of the then colourful Chief Minister of Karnataka, J.H.Patel mooted his new party, “Suvarna Youga” at Talacauvery. Performing pooja at the birth place of Cauvery with about six hundred supporters, Mahima Patel said that his party will grow into a big power, just like cauvery reaching many areas, in spite of a small beginning point. Addressing the gathering after performing pooja at Talacauvery, Mahima patel clarified that he has quit JDs not because that it did not give him any position, but because they failed to keep up promise to BJP. He remarked that the present politics of unity for the second time in the state in forming the government is nothing but an opportunist move. He welcomed MLAs to join his party and said that there are many MLAs who wish to join his party and did not do so as they do not want to support him openly at present. His mother Sarvamangala patel inaugurated the party by lighting the lamp. Wife Shylaja, aunt Prabhavathi, Chennagiri Maheshwarappa and others were also present. ‘THERE WON’T BE COPS AND HOSPITALS’Talking for a while after inaugurating the party ‘suvarna yuga’, Mahima Patel advised every one to sit for meditation. Every one sat on the rocky ground and listened to the mesmerizing words of Mahima with their eyes closed. Only cops and jurnos were found standing. Mahima asked cops also to sit and meditate. Visualize peace, and there will not be police, schools and hospitals, courts and judges in ‘Suvarnayug’, Mahima said. Things will change once his party ‘suvarnayug’ comes to power, he explained. Scribes left the place as someone over there said that the Meditation may go on up to evening. QUICK REACTION TEAM BY POLICE;The district police have formed three Quick Reaction Teams, which will tackle any kind of crime being reported in the district. Talking to this correspondent today, Superintendent of police, Dr.Trilokchandra said that the QRT is stationed in three talukas, Somwarpet, Virajpet and Madikeri. He informed that whoever calls the Control room to inform about crimes, the QRT will rush to the spot, wasting no time. The team cannot be equipped with mobile phones since there are many silent zones in Kodagu, inaccessible to mobile phones and hence the control room will have contact through wireless. Trilokchandra said that QRT is equipped with enough weapons and four police personnel to tackle the situations. The team could reach the spot even before a local police reach there, he said. Meanwhile, SP called a press conference yesterday to thank the people of Kodagu as he is leaving the district after six months service here. He has passed in 120th rank in IAS and is leaving the district tomorrow to attend training. He said that the police will hold meetings every month in villages to listen to their grievances. The people of the district are peaceful in general, he appreciated. SP in charge, DySP Shashikumar and inspector Ramachandra were present. |
