MURGDER CASE REGISTERED ABOUT BOYS DEATH;

Taluk police station has registered a murder case in connection with the suspicious death of a student, Darshan.

The case of murder was registered after the autopsy result revealed that the 22 year old boy was attacked on head with a club or a heavy object and thrown into river at Kootupole near Madikeri.

It can be recalled that the body of Darshan was found in the river and a cell phone was recovered from his pocket. Darshans parents have said that the boy was having two mobile phones and a friend of his had taken the spare mobile phone from him and had not returned it. Darshan went to Gaalibeedu a week back to get the mobile phone and never returned.

Two youth, Shiban and Shivapraksh are taken to custody for enquiry.

POLICE TO OPEN 28 TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRES;

Inspector general of police [western Zone]; Dr.R.P.Sharma disclosed that the state police will open 28 tourist information centers all over the state.

He was addressing the gathering after opening an information center at Madikeri near Rajas Seat, yesterday. R.P.Sharma said that about 16 centeres are already functioning in different parts of the state and twelve more would be commissioned shortly. The centre will also have a police alert sound system.

Assistant commissioner Akram pasha spoke on the occasion and said that similar centres are proposed at Abbi falls and Irpu water falls to assist the tourists. Superintendent of police Trilok Chandra presided over the function.
