STUDENT DROWNED;Madikeri November 10, 2007 Vincent, an eighth standard student died yesterday as he went out fishing with his friends. Son of Antony and Usha, Vincent was fishing in a lake near his house at Eralevalamudi village near Chettalli yesterday and slipped into water. Though his friends tried in vain to bring people to the spot, the boy had already died. The body was removed from the lake in the evening and funeral was held. Police have registered a case. JAIL BREAKER HELD;The district crime branch police have succeeded in catching a thief who fled from court premises during 2006. A notorious thief, Kaaryada Subhash having half a dozen different names had escaped from the clutches of police, while he was being presented at a court at Sakaleshpur on 29.11.06. He was caught with multiple cases of temple theft, chain snatching, and bike lifting in many districts. Subash was an inmate of Madikeri jail along with his accomplice, Danny Moses. They were operating together by stealing bike and breaking temples, shops and houses in different places by using the same bikes. They are facing charges of bike theft at Kodagu, Hassan, Chikmagalur, Mangalore and Udipi. Both the accused escaped from Sakleshpur court and were at large. again esaped from the police clutch during 2006. Acting on the tip off, Crime branch police raided a hideout on this 8th and arrested Subash. Moses gave slip, again. |
