LIFER FOR THREE MURDER ACCUSED;

The district and sessions court has slapped life sentence to three murder accused in the district.

The accused Rashikumar, Sathishkumar and B.K.Vinodh of kushalnagar had murdered a pan broker Mohammed Ali during 26.3.2001.

The accused had taken Mohammed Ali in their car to a forest area on the above date and stabbed him to death. Later the body was dropped beneath a bridge and the accused deacamped with a cash of rupees 86,000, belonging to the deceased.

Shanivarsanthe police had registered a case and conducted investigation.

Sessions judge Venktesh has slapped life term to all the three accused, yesterday.

PVT BUSSES THREATEN TO STOP SERVICE;

Owners of the private busses have threatened to stop their service against KSRTC harassment.

The members of the private bus owners have told this correspondent that the KSRTC is troubling them by introducing new busses to clash with their timings. According to them, a planter Vivek Poovaiah from Pollibetta is using his influence to push KSRTC busses to harm the private bus owners. They also informed that about fifteen busses halt at Pollibetta each night through his influence, which can not be done. The busses are plying without proper permit, they alleged. They said that they are levied heavy fixed tax per three months, while the KSRTC pays tax only to the collected amount.

Urging the district administration to withdraw such busses, the association has threatened to pull their busses off the road from December 1.

COMPLAINT AGAINST DEPUTY COMMISSIONER, CEO;

General Secretary of Bharatiya Janatha party,Ravi Kushalappa has lodged a complaint with the police against deputy commissioner Niranjan and chief Executive Officer Sundar.

Kushalappa has alleged that he was beaten by police on the first of November while he was going to Ganapathy temple at Fort premises on first of November. He accused the above two officials as responsible for the attack. It can be recalled that hell broke loose in front of the temple on November first as protestors led by MLA K.G.Bopaiah obstructed Rajyotsava celebrations. DC was stuck in the passage between protestors, police and children.

EXISTENCE COMMITTEE PLANS JAIL BARO PROGRAMME;

Kodagu existence committee has urged the district administration to take back the complaint lodged against MLA and 41 others.

Addressing a press conference yesterday, president of Akila Kodava samaj, matanda Monnappa and Addanda Cariappa stated that they will organize a jail baro programme if the administration ignores their request.
