POLICE MISBIHAVIOUR: SHRIMANGALA BUND CALL

Madikeri JUNE 3 A police jeep driver misbehaving with the women in the village was arrested by the Shrimangala Police Sub Inspector today. Ramesh, the driver had the history of teasing and inviting the decent ladies for illicit affairs. He does visit the houses of the local residents during night hours and was instigating them for illegal affair. The police officers knowingly had kept quiet hearing the oral complaints .Yesterday night the driver Ramesh went to the Shrimangala hospital run by Karuna trust and invited some nurses to fulfill his urge. This led to protest and the public who joined to catch hold the culprit and inevitably the Shrimangala Inspector had to arrest him. The Shrimangala civil awareness committee and the Karuna trust administrative committees jointly called for Shrimangala Bund on 4th (Today) to demand for deportation of the accused from the district.

WILD ELEPHANT KILLS

Madikeri JUNE 3 A wild elephant has killed a labourer at Kudlur Chettalli village near here.Lingaraju (58) of Holenarasipur Thaluk was working in Palanji estate in Kudlur Chettalli village.When he was working in the estate, suddenly the wild elephant attacked the person and squeezed him on the ground, who died badly on the spot. During the attack the elephant dashed to the water tank and it’s tusk was broken and fallen on the ground. The tusk is being seized by Siddapur Police.

EMPLOYEE SUSPENDED

Madikeri JUNE 3 A first grade assistant Basappa, working in Kushalnagar Town Panchayath was suspended. The employee face the allegation of handing over an official document to a public illegally. Recently, the Chief officer of the Town Panchayath, Kushalnagar had been suspended by the Kodagu deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav.

ENGLISH FOR PRIMARY STUDENTS.

MadikeriJUNE 3 Compulsory English is being taught to the Govt. primary school children in Kodagu also as per the Govt’s new education policy. However, the teachers and authorities say they have e not still received any official instructions to do so. In many classes run by the City Municipal council and even in near by villages like Kalakeri Nidugane primary schools the teachers started teaching “ABCD” to first standard children. In many other classes the admission process itself is not still completed. In some schools, the process is delayed due to the recent 10th exams in the classes. The students in a small village like Kalakeri Nidugane where almost all the students came from poor families have started learning “twinkle Twinkle little star”. The schools have not received Govt. circular so for connecting to the English teaching..But, in good faith, the school administration has started the teaching. The poor students are happy to pronounce the language which was made desert to them.
