MUDA CALLS TO REGULARISE RECORDS;Madikeri June 14, 2007 MUDA has called for regularization of encroached properties in and around Madikeri and has given a time schedule. Chairman Seethalakshmi Ramachandra and Commissioner K.Krishna Naik stated that the unauthorized properties if any around Madikeri should be regularized within three months, if they fit into MUDA regulations. They have called for applications from public and it will be reviewed by the committee. The properties which are not legalized will be dealt with as per the act after the time limit. MUDA will now cover Madikeri and cluster of villages with a space of 9347 hectares. Ibnivalavadi, Karnangeri, K.Nidugane, K.Badaga, Hebbettageri, Kadagadal, Makkandur and Katakeri villges come under MUDA jurisdiction now. The regularization applications would be sent to government and the government will conduct a survey of the property before legalizing it. COP SUSPENDED;Superintendent of police Trilokchandra has passed order suspending a tainted cop. Police constable Ramesh had created ruckus recently at Srimangala by barging into nurse quarters. Peple had rounded up cop and locked him up in a house till morning before handing him over to police. A protest meeting was held later and his suspension and transfer from the place was demanded. An ultimatum was served to department to initiate action against him. JOURNALISTS FELICITATED;Four journalists from Kodagu were felicitated by District Journalists Association yesterday during its general body meeting. Journalists Kudekal Santosh, Sunil, Ramesh Kuttappa and Vincent received awards from the association for their special reports. Kudekal Santosh and Sunil from Shakthi daily received award for best humanitarian report. M.B.Vincent, reporting for Andolana daily received award for best sports report. Ajjamada Ramesh Kuttappa from Vijaya Karnataka received award for best investigative report. State award winners vanitha Chandramohan, Anil H.T., Anchemane Sudi and Chamber director Sridar Nellithaya were also felicitated on this occasion. Senior journalists G.Rajendra, B.G.Anantha shayana, T.P.Ramesh, Koverkolly Indresh, A.C.Cariappa , information officer Vinodh Chandra and others felicitated the awardees. Association president Shashidar presided over the meeting. JURNO EXPELLED, ANOTHER SUSPENDE;Editor of a weekly newspaper Manu Shenai was expelled and reporter of the same magazine, Keshava Kamath was suspended from the membership of Journalists association for anti association activity and charges of misappropriation. Manu Shaenai was earlier suspended from the membership for writing false and derogatory remarks against the journalists association. Since his answer to the notice sent from the association was unsatisfactory, the general body decided to expel him from the association. The KUWJ had also approved the act of suspension in its letter to the association. Meanwhile, Keshava Kamath is facing charges of misappropriation of funds in Virajpet taluk Journalists Association. A committee is formed to investigate the matter. He is suspended till the report of investigation comes out. SECRETARY SUSPENDED;Ponnampet gram panchayath secretary K.K.Poonacha is suspended from duty on the allegation of dereliction of duty. Poonacha was accused of non co operation, cancellation of meetings, not producing accounts. G.P. president had complained to the district in charge minister Ramachandra Gowda against the secretary and appealed for his suspension. Poonacha is now suspended on the direction of the minister. |
