HIGH SECURITY IN BORDER AREAS

24 HOUR BEAT IN TOWNS:I.G.P. DR.SHARMA

Madikeri July 15: High security in border areas and strengthening the check posts is the priority in future –in addition 24 hours beat in important towns is the preference by the police department-disclosed Dr. A.Rajavir P.Sharma,IG.P, South Division. He was addressing the press after Police-Public interaction meeting held here.

The security will be tightened at the border areas like Kutta, Kodlipet and Kushalanagar.-he added.

24 hour police bike beat in the important towns will be started within 20 days. Traffic controle training is being carried to the local police personnel. After Aug. 15th New traffic stations will be started at Gonikoppal, Kushalanagatr , Virajpet and Somwarpet towns- he explained.

Special police security will be arranged in various tourism and pilgrim centres in Kodagu like Thalacauvery and Abbifalls etc; The proposal is sent and the sanction is expected before the coming Dasara festival. He requested the civilians to inform about corruption in the department if any such instances found. Every police station heads’ should arrange the monthly public relation meeting and the instruction is given regarding. Every first Sunday of the month, the officers should call the Dalith leaders for interaction Dr. Sharma told.

Due to the shortage of police in some villages, the local villagers will be recognized as police wardens as alternate measure. Responding to the complaint by the civilians, he warned the stringent action against drug trafficking in student level at Ponnampet and Gonikoppal areas.He instructed the officers to immediately act against the drug dealers in any of the shop establishments.

Complaint box will be setup in every police station to enable the public for their urgent complaints. Shortly, a web site will be configurated for direct complaint through the internet. About 45 interstate crimes are recently blasted. The department also keenly observes the possibility of prostitution activities shielded by tourism pretext -Dr. Sharma opined.
