POJA AT UDUPI IS MY RIGHT SAYS PUTTINGE PONTIFF;

Madikeri December 21, 2007

Performing pooja at the controbvercial Udupi Sree Krishna temple is my right, says Sugunendra Teerta Swamiji of Puttige Mutt.

The pontiff addressed scribes here yesterday and spoke that he need not seek the permission of anyone to perform pooja. Yet I will take other pontiffs of the ashtamutts into confidence and continue, he asserted.

He stated that the whole world is a holy place and it is unscientific to consider one place as holy and another as unholy. He recalled that Pejavar seer, who is opposing him now had welcomed him on his return from foreign. After all, I had been to west to spread spiritual values, he opined.

Earlier, addressing people at Lakshminrisimha kalyana mantapam, he informed that he will tour the whole state before sitting for ‘Paryaya” at Udipi during next month. He announced that several projects like, Beautiful Udipi, ratnarata to Sree Krishna, diamond cover to Praanadeva, Vishwarupa plan to spread the message of Bhagavadgeetha are all in the anvil during his tenure at Paryaya Peeta.

Earlier, the pontiff was given ‘poornakumba swaagat’ at G.T.circle on his arrival and was taken in a procession. He visited Sree Vijaya Vinayaka temple, Kodanda Rama temple and houses of the devotees.
