AMMATHI SPORTS CLUB LIFTED NESTLE CUP

The Ammathi sports club lifted the prestigious nestle Hockey up defeating Murnad Cooperative team.

The event held at Cauvery college ground, Gonikppal. Nestle is organizing the Kodagu cup hockey since 14 years. The specialty of Nestle is supply of coffee to the audience.

Ammathi team won by 2-1 goals. Nithin Ganapathi scored two field goals for Ammathi team.Belliappa of Murnad team converted a penalty corner to goal for his team. But the Ammathi goalkeeper Dilan Belliappa protected the team from loosing the match defending many goals attempted by Murnad team.

Kalyan Bengre of Murnad team awarded best forward, Navin of Ammathi team obtained best half back,Belliappa of Hoddur got best full back award and Shan of Madikeri wanderers received best goal keeper awards.

Nestle’s senior purchase manager Rana Mansingh of Fatepur was felicitated for his excellent skill on coffee sales in international level.

POLICE SPORTS DAY: COOLOURFUL END

Madikeri Dec. Every year the citizens especially, the children wait for the happiest occasion of crackers bursting during annual police day in District police grounds. Yesterday night the audience enjoyed the sports day with addition of tableaus like Mahishaura Mardini and other imitations. Partha of DAR police and girl Tripthi Thammaiah narrated the Goddess story through meaningful action. DAR staff Bhyrappa and team created a structural art to exhibit the traditional story. Continuous showering of luminous light flowers through rockets and other specially made items attracted the gathering. The police wore sports dress giving rest to their uniform and participated in joyful mood. In the absence of regular SP due to non appointment, DYSP Shashikumar and team attended.

DALTS PROTEST AGAINST THE MANKY MAITENANCE

The dalith residents in Sunticoppa Janatha colony protested in front of sunticoppa village panchayath and demanded to clean the dirty filled colony immediately to prevent disease and to maintain normal life in the area.Sunticoppa is upgraded to grade Ist Village Panchayath in the district. But the practicality shows the negligence towards daliths and the poor families in Janatha colony.The DSS has alleged that V.P.administration is misusing the various schemes sanctioned specially for SC/STs.The Panchayath has provided license to poultry and mutton dealers touching the colony site. All the waste and swampy manky flows towards the colony creating the intolerable scene and atmosphere. The bad smell kills their sleep. The flies, mosquitoes filling the surropunfding place.The public toilets built under schemes are in dilapidated condition and no body can enter due to dirtiness. About 30 houses in the colony are in dangerous condition due to dampness in the surrounding area.
