BJP ALLEGES CORRUPTION;

Gonicoppa town BJP president C.D.Madappa has alleged that the Gram panchayath is neck deep in corruption.

Addressing scribes at Gonicoppal he stated that money is being plundered in the name of works and projects. He alleged that a drainage built at a cost of rupees 3,500 was shown as rupees 22,350. Amount is shown five to ten times more in many works and complaint was already lodged to Chief Executive Officer. He alleged the involvement of the secretary and urged action against him.

DASARA TO BE HELD IN TWELVE LAKHS;

The Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav has said that Madikeri Dasara should be conducted within the funds available. Mentioning that the government has sanctioned rupees ten lakh against their demand of one crore, he requested the Dasara committee to plan the celebrations to fit into the funds available. He also said that fund could be raised from public also.

Talking to this correspondent Subodh yadav said that the excess amount of rupees two lakh from the last years dasara will also be spent for the celebration.

The Mantap committee president M.B.Deavaiah told that they will see that the Dasara is conducted in a grand manner. But he felt that each mantap should be given atleast rupees fifty thousand from the government. He said that he is appealing to the government for the release of extra rupees five lakh.

Chief patron of Dasara Committee and MLA K.G.Bopaiah stated that there is no difference between dasha Mantap committee and dasara committee. He requested every one to co operate in conducting Dasara successfully.
