MOTHER JUMPS TO DEATH WITH THREE KIDS;

In a bizarre incident, a mother jumped to death into a lake at somwarpet along with her three children yesterday night.

Sachini, 30 wife of a labourer Ganesh killed herself with her children at Devara Kere situated at Tolur Shettalli near Somwarpet yesterday night. her children Supreeta aged thirteen, studying in 8th standard, Sushmita aged eleven, studying in 6th standard and Shobita aged eight, studying at third standard are the victims.

According to police mother Sachini was found with a man in her house yesterday by eleven, by her husband. Husband returned from work at an unusual time and saw one Sudakar of the same villge running from his house. taking a sword in his hand ganesh went round the village looking for Sudakar and failed to trace him. Sachini was alone at house as her children had gone to school. a fully drunk ganesh shouted at his wife at night and went to sleep. by the time he woke up today, the house was empty and his wife and children were missing. later, Sachinis body was found floating in Devarakere in the morning. A police complaint was lodged.

Today the villagers and police began to search inside the lake and found the body of all the chi;ldren inside.

Ganesh was telling that his wife was raped by sudakar and the wife and children died inorder to avoid shame and mockery.

police registered a case and are looking for Sudakar.

HOSTEL COOK SUSPENDED;

The hostel cook facing charges of molesting the inmates is suspended by the officials, while police arrested him on receiving complaint.

Working as a cook at a residential school belonging to Sc and St at Thithimathi, Ravi allegedly was sexually harassing the inmates. Two girls were regularly molested by him at night and a new attempt to rape two others last week brought the secret out.

Based on the recommendation of Virajpet MLA H.D.Basavaraju, The Chief Executive officer of the Zilla Panchayath, Sundar Naik suspended Ravi from duty. Meanwhile, Ponnampet police arrested him yesterday night after a lady, Sushilakshi lodged a complaint.

The ZP president Ashok and others visited school yesterday and warned the staff and department officials who tried to hush up the issue.

The DSS office bearers have also urged severe action against the officials who supported Ravi.

ERRING OFFICIALS CAUTIONED;

The Somwarpet Taluk Panchayath has cautioned the officials who fail to attend the meetings and said that their salary would be blocked.

Presiding over the meeting, TP president Rani Narayana said that officials are ignoring the meetings conducted by elected representatives. The members in toto said that they should be questioned and punished. The nodel officer Chandra Shekar stated that a dys salary of such officials should be held. The meeting decided to write to treasury to withhold payment.

The meeting observed that money was misappropriated at Government hospital in the Raksha Committee account. Nodel officer agreed that preliminary inspection has proved that there is misappropriation and an inquiry would be held in this connection.
