ITALION WITH A BROOM;

‘What relationship does the gooseberry on top of the hill and the salt in a sea has’ is a proverb.

This could be applied to the group of westerners found working in hamlets inside Dubare forest area. Group of journalists found a batch of Italians indulging in wiping, swiping and cleaning houses, Anganavadis and other buildings situated inside Dubare.

Dubare is a small hamlet near Kushalnagar. Government is developing it into a tourist destination by introducing adventure sports; boating, rafting, elephant ride to attract tourists. A group of six social workers from Italy, France and Japan are staying in this village as a part of social service activity. They were sent by Field Service and Inter Cultural Learning centre, Bangalore.

The journalists found Italian Serena with a broom, cleaning a building. The group of foreigners said that they enjoy working and learning about the culture of India.


RESCUE TEAM TO TACKLE CALAMITIES;

The district has prepared a rescue team to tackle flood situations and the team members are being trained at Dubare.

The Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav and Superintendent of police Ramachandra Rao took a team of journalists and officials to Dubare and explained that the district is now well equipped to tackle calamitous situations.

The DC told that the personnel are trained under the central governments scheme by ‘Master High-tech Systems’ company. Training is given in swimming, rafting and rescuing people and property in flood situations.

SP Rao told that the central government is opening Rescue units in all the districts and the district administrations are advised to work on it.

More than four lakh worth rafting equipments are bought by the district already, according to DC. DC disclosed that the district has incurred a loss of rupees 32 crores due to flood situation and only rupees two crores is released by the government so far.

Zilla Panchayath president Ashok and CEO Sundar naik were also present.
