VILLAGERS BRAVE PYTHON;

In a nerve wreaking incident two villagers fought with a python and saved a sheep from being devoured at Nerugalale village near Somwarpet.

Kulla Basava and Anand noticed that a twelve feet long python was devouring a sheep in tribes’ colony yesterday and rushed to the spot. Half the body of the sheep had already entered into the python’s mouth. The duo held sheep from one side and the python from the other side and pulled hard. To their dismay, the sheep came out kicking and ran away from the spot instantly.

The villagers, forest officials and a veterinary doctor were summoned to the spot later. RFO Chinnappa and staff treated the python which had incurred injury in the fight it had put up before giving up its grip over its prey. Taking the Python to his custody, Chinnappa said that it will either be sent to Pushpagiri forest range or to Mysor Zoo.

THE HIGH SKY DRAMA;

With the Monsoon at its tail end and the signs of winter round the corner, the sky in Kodagu is turning awfully colorful at times.

The clouds create irresistible design in the sky provoking the artistic feelings in photographers and artists.

A similar design was captured by Anushree, a 9th standard student of St.Josephs convent here, two days ago at Madikeri.

FAKES HELD AT PERIYAPATNA;

Four youths posing as doctors holding a medical camp in Medara Block at Peryapatna was arrested by police yesterday.

Suresh, Raghavebdra, jagadish and Nayaz, all hailing from Kushalnagar was conducting a fake medical camp. Injections were being given to elders at rupees hundred and for youngsters at rupees fifty. Few villagers who went suspicious about the camp went to a local doctor who arrived at the spot and questioned the youth. The youth were caught by the villagers as they fumbled to answer query. Police were summoned and the group proved to be totally fake with no medical background. They named a lady doctor at Mysore with whose support they are conducting the camp.

The accused are sent to judicial custody and the investigation is on.

On the other side, villagers who are treated by the fakes are under tension and worrying about the consequences.
