SEARCH ON FOR KIDNAPPED MEDICOS;

Mandya and Kodagu police are jointly looking for Kidnappers who lifted two medical students from Mandya medical college.

According to police, two students are kidnapped from the college on 26th and were brought to Madikeri. The kidnappers were allegedly demanding huge ransom from the parents through mobile phones, sitting at Madikeri.

Students Ugum Chopra and his friend Bupinder Kadia from Haryana were missing since 26th along with their motor bikes. Police said that thye boys were brought to madikeri in bikes itself.

Kodagu police were alerted about the incident yesterday by Mandya police. The kidnappers allegedly fled Madikeri yesterday and went towards Hassan. Joint operation is being held at Kodagu, Mandya and Hassan to capture the kidnappers.

According to a source, suspicion is also arising as to how the students could be kidnapped in motor bikes. Or could it be a plan hatched by the students themselves to swindle money from their own parents, an unidentified police officer suspects.

HOUSE WIFE DONE TO DEATH;

A husband beat his wife to death at Hathur near Gonicoppa, suspecting her fidelity.

According to police, an estate labourer M.Mani, 50 beat his wife Boji, 45 to death at his house on Sunday night.

Mani saw another person running away from his house, as he was getting in. He beat her with a fire wood and she sustained severe injury on her head. Mani woke up in the morning to see that his wife was dead.

However Mani had prepared for her funeral yesterday inviting his relatives. Police arrived at the spot on a complaint and arrested him.

AGRICULTURE UNIVERSITY AT KUDIGE;

A University of agriculture will be started at Kudige and a team visited the spot yesterday for inspection.

Zilla Panchayath president Ashok told that the government will statrt the university in a 150 acre campus. Joint direct or of agriculture, Devdas and team inspected the spot and said that starting of university will benefit Kodagu. Mysore, mandya and other districts.
