RS.2 CRORE FOR SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY PARK

The Karnataka Govt has sanctioned Rs. 2 crore for establishing a Science technology Park in Kodagu. This was disclosed by M.L.A Mr.K.G Boapaiah. He was speaking in a function here after inaugurating “Internet World” a special pgrpgramme orgonised by Education department, NIC, Keonics Yuva Dot,com and BSNL. Jointly.

The project requires a minimum of 6 acres of land. Howe ever, the present lookout

does not yielded. The availability of land has become a problem To start with

the work, a portion of the Govt. Junior college building will be used said

Mr. Bopaiah .The Internet World is a 4 days programme. More than 6 thousand

Students will participate in the district-said Mr. Subodh Yadav, the kodagu

Last year 1700 students in Kodagu were trained under the scheme- he

CLEANUP MADIKERI

More number of tourists are arriving. to Madikeri Town administration has been upgraded from town to City Municipal Council..The whole town is facing heavy trafficular haphazards, The cleaning of the town has become an headache. To avoid the negligence towards the cleanliness, Under the Municipal Clean City scheme of the Govt.the Madikeri women organizations and self help groups have came forward to take the cleanup responsibility in the town. The Municipal administration has planned a special arrangement for the particular work. The District Child welfare association has commenced training of guiding the women folk through solid waste management.. The women members are now approaching the housewives to dump the waste materials to the tipper vehicles when the cleanup vehicles move in the town daily. Two new tipper vehicles already reached Madikeri The new arrangement will be commenced from Nov. 1st during Rajyotsava day.

The waste will be bifurcated before dumping to the bins. .The housewives will be trained to bifurcate the wastes. The waste food items, Flowers and Vegetables,, the ashes ,floor dusts, he waste papers etc will bee categorized under raw things ; The reclining items are categorized like plastic ,packing items, the waste cloths etc. Third variety waste is categorized as the dangerous and unuseful materials like waste batteries, chemical items, syringes,etc;

To dump the these three varieties of wastes three separate colour dustbins will be provided. When the vehicle arrives the citizens have to dump the materials Rs. 30 per month will be collected from the citizens .The present dustbins found in various places in town will b e withdrawn. People should not spread any wastes on roads .If anybody violates the instructions action will be taken
