GIVES BIRTH TO TRIPLETS;

A lady from a poor family has given birth to triplets yesterday at government hospital

According to doctor Kishor Kumar, laborer Bhagya delivered triplet at the hospital after operation. Bhagya was happy to see the face of two male and a female baby she gave birth to after three years of marriage.

Bhagya and her husband are working in an estate belonging to a councilor Shivakumari. She said that she will take care of the children.

BANK EMPLOYEES GO ON STRIKE;

Bank employees all over the district yesterday went on strike in response to the call given by all India employees association.

Employeesd shouted slogans in front of their banks, plac ing demands.

Employees at Somwarpet went in a procession.

The customer’s wit ATM cards had no problem collecting money from ATM Centers which were not blocked.

PRIVATE BUS STAND TO BE SHIFTED;

The private bustand causing traffic hazards at Madikeri would be shifted shortly.

The Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav told this correspondent that the process to shift the bustand and acquire a new land is on and the government’s final say is awaited.

The bustand will be shifted to the four acre land occupied by the Agriculture Research station in race cource road. The publications to acquire the land in gazetteer are over and the files are awaiting government’s final nod. Subodh Yadav clarified that six persons have filed objection, including the University of Agriculture. However that will not pose any legal complication for acquiring the land, he said.


FACE LIFT FOR ABBI FALLS;

Subodh Yadav said that the Abbi Falls would be improved with better facilities. The private road leading to the waterfalls will be acquired, roads will be done and lights would be put up, he said.

Cement benches would be erected for the tourists to enjoy the scenery. Bus facility from Madikeri will also be organized, according to him. Improvements are planned due to the increased inflow tourists to the place. Hundreds of tourists throng Abbi Falls each day.
