“THIRTHODBHAVA” GLANCE AT THALACAUVERY

Madikeri Oct Divotees in large number gathered to witness the emerging of Cauvery in a small pond at. Thalacuavery, the birth place of river Cauvery. The Muhurtham is 2.34 A.M. on 18th at “Simha Lagna”.

The luminous light arrangement with 1150 tubelights,25 microwave High Power lamps, galleries to sit with huge pendals are the arrangements by the local temple fund committee and the District administration..

Three DYSps, 7 CPIs, 30 PCIs,41 ASIs,103 HCs, 276 PCs,34 women police, 250 Home Guards,4 DIR Platoon,2 Fire brigades teams are engaged. Carrying of Coin Boxes (Hundis) from Bhagamandala to Thalacauvery, Special divine dresses to wear them to Cauvery, Special ornaments were carried with traditional system. The temple”Thakkas”, committee office bearers accompanied the shifting of these precious items from Bhagamandala to Thalcauvery.

The inexhaustible vessel(Akshaya Pathre)was filled with rice. The local farmers continued filling the vessel which was then stored in the rice room; This is the tradition followed during the festival The incessant lamp fire is litted . The light will continue till 19th Oct. The Superintendent of Police Dr. Ramachandra Rao, DYSP H,R,.S.Shetty supervised the “Bandobust” in entire festival area. The Bhagamandala panchayath has arranged special parking facility for vehicles. Special private and KSRTC buses moved from various places to Thalacauvery.

The ministers Chaluvarayaswamy, Nagaraja Shetty, Ramachandra Gowda and speaker Krishna accepted the invitation to attend “Thirthodbhava”.This was disclosed by K.G.Bopaiah, the local M.L.A. Till evening more devotees from Kerala state were seen arriving in buses and other vehicles.

The arrangements are supervised by the Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav, the committee president Narayachar and manager Sampathkumar. Today continuous mass feeding was done by Kodagu Ekikarna Ranga at Thalacuavery. The Virajpet kodava Samaj mass feeded the devotees at Bhagamandala.

The entire piligrim centre was decorated with fresh flowers by Donors Ganesh and Ravi of Hoskote Village, Bangalore Rural District. Cultural programmes of Melukote team and Ponnampet team with Vocal and instrumental music is arranged.

This year, the whole temple renovation is in the ending stage. The Cauvery Developemnt authority is conducting the renovation work with picturesque view. Already Agasthyeshwara, Shasthavu and Ganapthi temples are completely renovated and the reconsecration of idols was done recently. Govt. had sanctioned Rs. 12.5 crores for the renovation of Thalacuvery and Bhagamandala temples and the complete works is aimed to be finished during next year march.
