DAYANAYAK FELICITATED AT KODAGU;

Encounter expert, the cop who shook the underworld in Mumbai, Dayanayak was felicitated yesterday at Gonicoppal.

The Dasara committee felicitated him in a colourful function at night to mark the ninth day celebration of Navaratri.

Addressing the gathering Dayanayak stated that he has no regret to kill the anti social elements on the order of the government and in the interest of the society. He expressed satisfaction that out of the four hundred listed rowdies he had arrested, not a single one hails from Kodagu. He said that among the ten dreaded rowdies in India one hails from Karnataka. It is an unpleasant development, he opined.

Death is certain if one leaves the track and one can lead a normal life only if he or she lives righteously, Dayanayak said. He called upon the parents to bring up their children by kindling nationalism in them.

The state chamber of Commervce member Girish Ganapathy was also felicitated on the occasion. Committee president B.D.Mukunda spoke on the occasion and said that the celebration of dasara has costed the committee rupees 3.5 lakh. Achievers from different field were also honoured on the occasion. B.S.Prakash welcomed the gathering. Abdul jaleel proposed vote of thanks.

GRAND CLELBRATION OF MADIKERI DASARA

Madikeri historical dasara was celebrated in a grand manner. More than a lakh people witnessed the festival .Ten decorated structural figures (Mantaps) with structural movements (Mantaps)attracted the viewers. The laminating lights, the action of tableau type structures showing killing of demons by Gods and Godesses had stunned the spectators. Orchestra by Shankhanad Aravind’s Shruthilaya team retained the people to sit in Gandhi maidan venue from yesterday night to till today morning 6 A,.M. with the waterproof roofing to protect from rain. Surprisingly the rain which was disturbing till, “Ayudhapooja “day had a stopped pouring on the Dasara day.

Killing of Tharakasura by Shanmuka and the “thrimurthis” blessing the young Subramanya structutre got the first prize, .The story was practically brought to movement in a lively form.

The Dandina Mariamma temple secured second prize. Killing of Hiranya Kashipu by Lord Narisimha had the lively movement .Kote Ganapathi temple’s killing of demon by Dashavathara Ganapathi obtained third price .Decorated structural figures (Mantaps) from Pete Ramamndira, Kodandaramamandira, Dechur Ramamandira, kanchi Kamakshi temple, Karavale Bhagavathi temple , Kundurumotte Chauti Mariamma temple and Shri Chowdeshwari temple figures also attracted the viewers.

The Vijayadashamai final day festival was earlier inaugurated by the Karnataka Health Minister Ashok. He expressed his astonishment about the peoples involvement in Madikeri Dasara. He appreciated the audience sitting and moving throughout the njght . He praised the way of decorating the whole town and also the presence of large number of tourists,Ashok also announced that a special insurance scheme will be launched for the benefit of poor section of the society within 10 days. The coalition Govt is interested to provide health insurance upto Rs. 30 thousand limitation for the poorer people. The poor patients for the proper recovery even can get the treatment from the private nursing homes, if the facility is not available in the nearest Govt. Hospitals.

The Chief guest Shri Ramulu, the tourism minister has announced the priority of developing tourism in kodagu .Karnataka is attracting more and more number of tourists. every here- he said.

He assured the Govt will give prominence to Madikeri Dasara also like Myaore Dasara. More publicity will be given to Madikeri Dasara with proper guidance top tourists- he said.

Ramachandra Gowda the state information technology and Kodagu district in charge minister assured about the overall development of Kodagu with the help of the local representatives. The Golden Karnataka celebrations starts from Thalacauvery and Bhagasmandala on Oct. 5th he disclosed.

Another guest K.G.Bopaiah, the Local M.L.A while speaking stressed the need for repair of the worst roads in Kodagu. He requested the ministers on the dias to seriously consider his appeal. Kodagu is survived by the agricultural cultivation and tourism. The tourists hesitate to travel in the worst roads- he explained.
