TIGER KILLS LIVE STOCK;Madikeri November 25, 2006 Tiger menace which was reduced since a month after the capture of one has returned. Two cows and a buffalo calf were killed at Nalkeri village in South Kodagu on Thursday night by a tiger. The tiger attacked the live stock inside the shed of a house and feasted over them. People in South Kodagu are being attacked by a man eater since a year. Two men and dozens of live stock were killed. Yielding to the protest by people forest department captured one tiger by tranquilizing. But the people were suspecting whether the captured tiger was the man eater or not. They had observed at least two tigers roaming inside their estates. Forest department is appealed to provide protection. MONTHS ULTIMATUM TO SOLVE JAMMA ISSUE;Cauvery Sene has served a months ultimatum to Government to solve the Jamma land issue. Cauvery Sene had organized a protest meet yesterday at Madikeri and speakers arrived at a decision to serve ultimatum Sene convenor Ravi Chengappa stated that the people will start non co operation movement with the government and intensify protests and non co operation if the government fails to reverse the order. As per the latest order by the government, Jamma land holders do not enjoy the right over land and they cannot sell them. Jamma lands are the ones gifted to people by the then Kings. Jamma land holders enjoy certain privileges and they need not hold license to have guns. YOUTH MOLESTS INFANT;A youth, Rashid allegedly molested a five year old baby girl yesterday near Nelli Hudikeri. Rashid took the baby into a forest and committed the crime. Siddapur police arrested Rashid and the court sent him to judicial custody. |
