JAMMA LAND PROBLEM EXPLAINED TO SECRETARY;

Madikeri November 19

State Staff and administration reforms secretary Suresh has assured that the government will be briefed about the Jamma land problem.

Suresh arrived in Madikeri yesterday and held grievance meet with the people in the presence of officials. He was told about the Jamma land problem surfacing after the recent government order. The recent order denies any right over the land to its owners and they cannot sell them.

He assured that the government will try to solve the problem and he will place the grievances before it. He expressed happiness over the less complaints being received from the public and appreciated the way the Deputy Commissioner is functioning.

Suresh told the officials to organize separate buildings for district administration, which is now functioning in the fort building, RTO office being shifted.

He cautioned the forest officials against the complaints being received by the government about tree felling and poaching. He also told the DC that the roads are in a pathetic condition After Periyapatna and said he has experienced the bad drive himself. He asked the officials to utilize whatever money is available to maintain roads.
