TWO STAFFERS SUSPENDED

Two staffers of branch post office at Shanivarasanthe, Somwarpet thaluk were suspended on charges of misappropriation of public funds.

B.N.Palaksha and N.H.Thimmaiah, the staffers are facing charges of misappropriation of Rs. 1.5 lakhs .Shrinivas a medical shop owner at Shanivarasanthe had deposited Rs. 45 thousand under RD A/C. Ramachandra Rao of Bettadalli and other customers have also deposits. Total worth of Rs.1.5 lakhs has been drawn using the fake signatures of various depositors. Actually no amount was drawn by any of these depositors. The two staffers are alleged to have drawn the amount through fake signatures. The customers who have been cheated smelled the mischievous act and have submitted a written complaint to the concerned postal authorities.

After preliminary investigation, the staffers found to have been involved directly and both Palaksha and Thimmaiah were suspended. The other depositors are rushing to find out the safety about their deposits also.

WIFE KILLED

Wife was killed by husband at Elephantcamp colony in Dubare forest area.

Muthamma (27) was killed by husband Shivaji (32) .She was tangled to death.The accused is absconding.she left her 6 year baby girl.Siddapur police have registered a case.

DRINKING WATER:RELIEF TO SOMWARPET CITIZENS

Somwarpet citizens will get a relief of drinking water scarcity problem. At present the people are using the water supply from the Dudgal river. The river starts receding during summer and almost will become complete dry. The people of Somwarpet which is the thaluk head quarters suffer due to scarcity of water every year.

No other water source is available as an alternate arrangement. For the living,they surrender to the neighbours who have the facility of well water of their own.

At last the Govt. machinery came forward to rescue the needy . The project to supply water from the Harangi reservoir.is officially launched.Technical approval is completed. The Chescom will call tgender for the electrification of the project's technical machineries. This is disclosed by the Chesom EE Mr. V.Krishnappa.He was

addressing the gathering in the “Vidyuth Adalath” programme at somwarpet.

More than30 K.Ms distance from Harangi to Somwarpet has to be covered with the connecting pipes and other machineries. The work will be commenced soon -Krishanappa aannounced At preseent the Harangi water is mainly supplied to Mysore and Mandya for drinking and irrigation purposes.
