Person dead due to bull attackNapoklu, May 25: The incident of a bull attack leading a person of Napoklu to death in an Arab country has been reported. The victim Chembanda M Abushaali was a resident of emme maadu village near here and for the last 12 years he made his stay in Nazraan of Saudi Arabia. This incident took place on the 20th. The victim was feeding the bull which was in its shed as per his owner’s instruction. When he was heading towards the shed, the bull unchained, came charging towards him and attacked brutally and killed him. The last rites were performed in Nazraan, with the permission of the family members. Wild elephant kills a womanKodlipet, May 25: A wild elephant stamped a woman to death. The incident took place in the border of Coorg district, Shivaralli near Kodlipet yesterday evening. According to police, Monakshi, wife of one Kitti was returning from the estate at the time of the incident. A tusker took her by surprise and attacked her. She was thrown into drainage and stamped to death. The body of Monakshi was crumpled by the attack. The body was taken to Sakleshpur for autopsy. People here complain that the a herd of ten to twelve elephants are creating havoc in the area since a month and forest department is not taking any action to control the menace. TEXT BOOK IN KODAVA LANGUAGE;Madikeri May 26, 2006 Chairperson of Kodava Academy, Dotty Poovaiah told here yesterday that a textbook in Kodava language would bereleased in by the end of July. Addressing a meeting, she said that the book would be brought out on experimental basis to bring awareness about the importance of kodava language and its beauty. She disclosed that the academy would form a scheme to educate children through Kodava books, until the education department approves the book. |
