MURDERER HUSBAND ARRESTED

An assistant to Mahout Jenu Kurubara Mooga at Moorakal forest area near Nagarhole has murdered his wife Parvathi who is middle aged for silly reason. Both were alcohol addicts. The drunken wife and husband started quarrelling after over drunken yesterday night. The enraged husband Mooga hit his wife using an iron rod. She died on the spot. Kutta Police have arrested the accused.

TEACHERS PROTEST AGAINST BEO

The Somwarpet thaluk primary school teachers staged “Dharna” on the streets at Kushalngar protesting the harassment by the Block Education officer Mamatha. A training was going on for teachers at primary school premises kushalnagar, In another portion of the same building some other function was arranged and Mamatha BEO was one of the guests.

After she came to school to attend the function she called the teachers one by one who were attending training and try to instruct them to sign for a letter appreciating her service in the thaluk. She attempted this to get rid of some allegations against her in the department. Instead of requesting the teachers she was said to have called them sheeps and insulted them.

Enraged by her behavioutr all the teachers jointly through the Somwarpet thaluk teachers association and staged a “Dharna” and demanded her resignation. They alleged she is forcibly collecting signatures from them favouring her continuation in the thaluk. Meanwhile the Kushalnagar Z.P.member V.P.Shahsidhar intervened and convinced the teachers to withdraw protest .The DDPI Vedamurthy also assured them to take action against the BEO Mamatha. Then the teachers called off their strike.

The Somwarpet thaluk teachers association president yogesh, Secretary H.N.Manjunath and other office office bearers have participated in the protest.
