BRAHMAKALASHOTSAVA HELD AT TALACAUVERY;Madikeri May 19, 2006 Rituals of Brahmakalashotsava began early today at Talacauvery. Pious crowd gathered to witness the auspicious celebration braved the thunderous rain poured since morning. Chanting of mantras and praising Godess Cauvery in high pitch rented the sky as the most ancient Linga of Agastyeshwara was installed in the newly constructed temple at the auspicious lagnam at 7.30 a.m. Tantri Neeleshwara Padmanabha later installed the idol of lord Ganesha in the next temple. The twin temples of Agastyeshwara and Lord Ganesha came to life in the presence of hundreds of devotees. ML K.G.Bopaiah who is also the president of the installation committee,deputy commissioner Subodh Yadav, CEO Sundar naik working president Matanda Monnappa, secretary Rajendra, committee members K,S.Devaiah, Suresh Chengappa, A.K.S.Bhat, Thammu Poovaiah ,chief architect udaya Kumar, sculptor Muniangala Prasad, former minister Suma Vasanth, T.P.ramesh and others were present. Distribution of Prasad and Annadan took place in the afternoon. Rituals will be carried on until tomorrow. Rejuvenation of temples in the twin towns Talacauvery and Bhagamandala are being done at a cost of rupees 12.5 crore by the Cauvery Authority. Structure housing two temples Devotees seen taking bath, performing pooja BOYS DEATH CREATES TENSION;Tension prevailed around a private hospital here yesterday night as a boy succumbed to consuming poison. R.B.Bheemesh, 21 consumed poison three days ago and was shifted to Government hospital. The doctors their asked the family to shift the boy elsewhere, yesterday as he started omitting blood. He was shifted to a private hospital. The boy was treated till evening. The doctors declared the boy dead and collected their bill. As the body was being pushed into ambulance to be taken for autopsy, it started breathing. The boys friends who had arrived at the spot for autopsy demanded explanation and treatment from the hospital. Fuel was added to fire as the government doctor who had said he can not be treated at government hospital arrived here to treat him. As the fate would have it, inspite of the doctors trying to save the boy again, he died around 9 p.m. The agitated mob demanded suspension of the government doctor Dr.nanjaiah and refused to take the body. Police controlled the mob which tried to manhandle the doctor. Additional police troups arrived at the spot. DySP Halesh Naik, Circle inspectors Sundar Naik and ramratan Kumar controlled the situation by assuring that action would be taken against the doctor for negligence of duty. They said that the District Health officer would be asked to enquire the issue. The body of the boy was cremated today. |
