MANURE ISSUE ROCKS HOUSE; ONE MORE ARRESTED;

Selling of fake manure in Kodagu rocked the house yesterday and one more person is arrested in this connection after the Chiief Ministers direction.

MLA Jivijaya produced packets containing fake manure being sold in Kodagu by a supplier from Tiptur and demanded immediate action from the chief minister, yesterday.

He sought permission to test the manure in the house and the speaker asked him to do it in the speakers office.

The manure was tested in the presence of CM and other leaders. Jivijaya proved that the manure is not dissolving in the water, instead becomes hard. Opposition leaders including former chief minister Dharam Singh supportede Jivijaya and urged the CM for action.

The Kodagu SP was immediately asked to take severe action and not to budge to any political interference.

SP Dr.Ramachandra Rao told this correspondent that one more person was apprehended at Tiptur in this connection, yesterday night. A team of circle inspector Jayaram and DCIB inspector Lingappa rushed to Tiptur and brought to Kodagu a manure dealer Subbaraj along with 200 bags of fake manure. He was lodged at Kushalnagar.

Ramachandra Rao, who has doctorate in agriculture studies told that the manure is definetly a fake one and is harmful to paddy and other crops.

He revealed that Subbaraj was not getting supply from Factomphose company as he owed money to the tune of rupees eight lakhs to them. He got down to dealing fake manure and was selling it around Kushalnagar through one Ramakrishna of Kushalnagar. But the manure was packed with a gunny bag with the brand name Factomphose.

The bags were sold at rupees 375 each. According to Subbaraju, the manure was supplied from Rajastan regularly.

SP ramachandra Rao told that the fake manur deal seems to be an inter state racket and investigation will be taken up.

So far four persons including Subbaraj and Ramakrishna are arrested in this connection.

JURNOS FELICITATED;

The district journalists association yesterday distributed awards to two scribes during their general body.

K.Indresh, G.Rajendra, P.P.Ponnappa felicitated Anchemane Sudhi and Vanitha Chandramohan during the function. The two journalists have won district award for best investigative and best humanitarian report.

In the election held, K.K.Jeevan is re elected as the president.C.N.Sunil Kumar and Ravikumar as vice presidents, C.N.Somesh as vice president, K.L.Girish as treasurer, A.Sudhi as organizing secretary , Sridhar Hoovalli, K.L.Girish, Muralidhar, Shashi Somaiah were elected as directors. Shashi Somaiah is elected as the president of Kshemabhivrudinidi. The meeting selected the names for permanent invitees. H.M.Annappa conducted the election.
