RAIN RAGE RE BEGINS;Madikeri June 29, 2006 After a break of about twenty days, people of Kodagu began to experience rain fury since three days. Parts of Kodagu are experiencing continuous rainfall since yesterday. Huts and frail houses built on hillocks experience cracks and partial collapse. A small house at Rajarajeshwari Nagar collapsed yesterday. A temple at M.Badaga village is damaged as a tree fell over it. The temple management said that huge loss is incurred as the foundation of the temple is also damaged. Pupil studying in a school at Mullusoge had a miraculous escape as a tree branch fell on the compound wall. The compound wall is damaged while the school building incurred minor damage. Rivers and streams are slowly raising causing concern to officials. People living in low-lying areas are asked to move to safety. Temple damaged due to tree fall Abbi Falls, full and panoramic again BUCKET AS GOD OF DEATH!In a painful incident a two-year-old baby died, falling into a bucket full of water. The incident was reported from Kommetodu near Virajpet. According to the report, the two-year-old Shashank was playing in a bucket of water kept in the yard to collect rainwater. He fell face down into the bucket and died. SMOKERS TO BURN FINGERThe Sunticoppa Gram Panchayath has decided to fine those who smoke in public. Though a resolution in this regard was passed long back, implementation had suffered. The newly appointed Sub Inspector of Sunticoppa, J.T.Somaiah has said that he will implement the rules strictly and fine the offenders. |
