RESOLUTION TO DEVIATE CRORE RUPEE TO OTHER TEMPLES

The amount reserved for Thalacauvery development should be distributed to other various important temples for the overall development .This is he resolution passed in the Thalacauvery-Bhagamandala recosecration committee meeting under the presidenthip of M.L.A M.r K.G.Bopaiah. He disclosed this in a press conference here.

Rs. One crore has been reserved for the I development of Thalacauvery piligrimage centre. The Govt. has asked to return it if the amount is not used. Already, the Cauvery development Authority has taken the renovation of Thalcauvery and Bhagamandala temples at the estimated cost, of Rs. 12.5 crores. So, Rs. One crore which was separately sanctioned by the State Mujarai department is not used and the same amount is Asked by the Govt. to return. Instead of returning the sanctioned amount the same can be distributed to other important Mujrai temples in Kodagu. Palur temple, Irpu Rameshwara, Madikeri Omkarewshwara, the historical Kings’ tombs, padi Igguthappa and other temples need the amount for the renovation. Rs. One crore should be distributed for this purpose urged K.G.Bopaiah and he told he will discuss this with the concerned ministers.

The newly renovated Agastyeshwara, Ganapathi and Shasthavu temples reconsecration was recently completed only with the help of donations from Public and out of the collected Rs.11 lakh 8 thousand Rs. 6 lakh 80 thousand is used for the recosecration works. The remaining amount will be utilized for the complete reconsecration works at Bhagamandala temples during May, 2007 when all the renovation works will be finished by the Cauvery development authority.

The Thalacauvery and Bhagamandala temples could not be managed by the Govt’s procedure of forming local committees. Cauvey flows in the state, interstate and National routes. She is the lively river of India. So, the committee should be formed after consultations and detail discussions. Till then the present reconsecration committee will supervise these temples-Mr. Bopaiah explained.

Office beares Mathanda Monnappa, Suresh Chengappa, Rajendra, Sampathkumar, Thammu Poovioah., K.J.Bhara,Thammi,Robin, Ravi Hebar,H.T,.Anil, Rajiv and others were present.

ORANGE SOCIETY UNDER PROFIT

The Kodagu orange process centre at Gonikoppal has come out of the clutches of heavy loss bearing days and has now earned a profit. This was announceed by M.L. C and the president of the centre Mr. Arun Machaiah. The centre was suffering crores of Rs. Loss during the previous management due to negligence.

The pineapple products are being exported, At present pineapple is brought from outside he district. If kodagu farmers start growing pineapple in he district they will get Rs. 5 to 6 per K.G for the grown pineapple-Arun Mchiah disclosed in press conference at Gonikppal.He requested the Kodagu growers to change the ginger cultivation to pineapple which yields better to them. The pineapple cultivation in an acre of land requires an investment of Rs.. 20 thousand per acre. The grower will get a net profit of Rs. 40 thousand per acre of pineapple cultivation he suggested, even any type of fruits grown by Kodagu growers will be positively purchased by the Process centre he confirmed,

The centre is also exporting the products processed using other items like mango, green chilli,cucumber etc; the administrative expenditure in the centre has been reduced to cover the previous loss he told
