CM TO VISIT KODAGU;Harangi reservoir officials have confirmed that the Chief Minister Kumar Swamy will visit Kodagu during next week. They stated that he will perform pooja at harangi Dam and then proceed to Madikeri . He is expected to visit the landlide spot which claimed nine lives. The chief minister was expected to visit Kodagu on this eighth and the programme was cancelled due to heavy rainfall. THEY CALL THIS A BRIDGE !The revolution of modernaisation gets a jerk here. A bridge in South Kodagu links a cluster of villages. The residents of Nalkeri, Kadnur and Mythadi use this bridge, a tree log ( ! ) to cross across. Even the patients and things should be transported through this feeble, small temporary bridge. Its named “Kakkare Paala”. The residents complain that even to reach hospital and Bank at the nearest village Kakotuparambu, they have to cross this bridge. They complained that MLC Arun Machaih had promised to build a bridge all in vain. Appeals to MLA Basavaraju hit the deaf ears. Alas, MP Prema Kalappa belongs to this area, they regret. They have appealed to the government to construct a proper bridge and save future tragedies. |
